Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Metricon Franklin 40 Sydney 1703Apr 21, 2016 7:53 am Hi Franky, I've paid the initial deposit ,had the soil test and survey completed a couple of weeks ago. My wife and I are looking at the Savannah 40(modified to suit our narrow 12.8m block). We chose the Isla façade after finding Orph's Glendale 38 thread. I am now having second thoughts about the Savannah as there is no display home in NSW to inspect and get a feel of what the home would look like especially with the narrowed garage. I'm not sure about the staircase either, I like the Laguna style more. KKPP gave me a tip on Orph's thread that the Laguna is an option for narrow blocks. I am starting to think that the Laguna is a better option but I can't seem to convince my wife to consider it. She wanted the Main bedroom at the front. The only option for the Main at the front is the Laguna 40 MF, this will cost more as it is a Designer and there is no outdoor room included. If only if we have the same option as Metricon VIC, the Laguna 34 or 37MF is available to NSW clients. I haven't asked SC yet but have feeling it won't be available. Also feeling a bit embarrassed as I have asked SC to change the floor layout for the Savannah about 4 times already. Definitely driving her insane. I'm still unsure which house to build at the moment, should have researched more before putting the initial deposit. Re: Building Metricon Franklin 40 Sydney 1705Apr 21, 2016 8:37 am Hi KTC - you are spending hundreds and thousands of dollars if you are unsure ask the question. Savannah with Isla facade is a nice home. If not having a display home to see is your concern, I would make a short trip to Melbourne to have a look. We drove up to Ballina (near QLD border) to have a look at Franklin display home. It's is a small price to pay for the investments you are making viewtopic.php?t=78985 Building Metricon Franklin 40 Sydney 1706Apr 21, 2016 8:40 am carpets being installed today! I was told wool carpet is tolerable for people with allergies probably not great if you have really bad allergies. The door with the glass is from Hume. We got this door for WIL downstairs, powder room (to match the front door) and for the master, was way too expensive to do that for all doors . viewtopic.php?t=78985 Your best bet might be to go visit the display homes and walk around in them, and take photos. Get a feel for it in person instead of deciding from the floor plan.
