40mm stone??
It's 60 on the bench.
I mean that's a chunky bench.. hubby ruled on this one though.
We thought it might be nice to have a sharp contrast between the island and the benchtops.

We had to shorten it from our preferred length to get a decent shower but it's fine. We didn't want the room to feel crowded. The door is an opening one so we needed to allow room for that. Only the ensuite has a slider. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We used the same fittings in the main and ensuite. The shower rail was a little costly but I'm glad we did this. It's practical. Loving the Caroma basin - inspired by a thread on here! Thanks to my H1 friends Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Splashback going in! The stone has a very delicate grey vein but it's hard to pick up in a photo from my phone. Crap pic but Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The annoying thing is that the tap doesn't push all the way back, you need to do it at an angle. Originally we had the window lower down and no splashback. The window had a deep reveal and that's when we chose the tap. No one thought of it when we put a stone splashback there and moved the window up. I kind of wish they'd asked if we wanted a different tap, it's going to annoy me but it's not a huge deal. I think the tap looks nice. Dont panic too much about the tap. If there really is no spinning it round or fixing it you can always get a new tap later on if it bugs you. Do you have a handover date yet? You must be getting close. Sorry if you have already said the date and i missed it. I do like the idea of having a window splashback. Will you have tiles in the gap between the bench and the window frame? I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13437 |
