However tonight I was told they don't want my business from an email of the sales manager in about 40 words. No mention on refund. No explanations were given. No mention if they have looked at my complaint. Their customer service is really marvelous! You better bite the bullet and let them finish your home. Does anyone know the channel of complaint to the CEO? Any use if I take it up to Fair Trading? That is disappointing. I think they are becoming protective of staff having realised that have bitten more than they can chew. Which sales center are we talking about here? She is a sales consultant from Gledswood Homeworld. We have never visited that display centre before. The Enigma display home we chose was in fact at Kellyville. That was one question I still never understood why they assigned a sales consultant from Gledswood 60 kms away? In fact we visited the Kellyville centre twice in Feb for our KDR. During our visits we asked them if a few changes were possible like putting additional ensuites and swapping position of the activity room with a bedroom. We also warned them our existing house had a 7 steps staircase (1.5m drop) before stepping on the grass of the backyard. Not a single problem they replied. We happily dropped our details and they promised a site inspection the following week. Nothing happened and absolutely dead silence in the next 3 weeks even after a few emails to the sales name on the card. We finally made an angry complaint on the "Contact Us" of Mojo website. At end of March we finally heard from them with the assigning of the sales consultant from Gledwoods to look after us. We only later learned she was from Gledswood centre. We paid $1k in early April for the contour survey to get things going. She was ok in the beginning. We paid $2k in early May to get the tender done and the preselection appointment. However after a few mistakes she made and we told her the mistakes she got very impatient in entertaining our requests. She started to get pushy and annoyed on us. She even did not answer questions we had. While we were trying to make sure she was talking the same language because we were not certain our request for changes would be communicated to her correctly, she sent a sketch with all the living areas facing south! We knew something was very wrong with her. Until last week we finally voiced out our complaint at a triggering point. We found out a mistake on the updated siting diagram. The front setback was only 3 m instead of the existing 8 m. And for 4 months since we started, we could not even get our names right on all documents we received including this updated siting diagram. We had been telling them our names on the documents had a mistake for 6 times since March. We could not even get it right for such a minor thing for the past 4 months. However after my complaints last week, we ended up to get the penalty instead. They didn't want our business and told us to go. Today the sales manager wrote to us to promise a refund of the $3k we paid. We will see if they will keep this promise. However we are deeply emotionally hurt with this incident after wasting 5 months working on the project. The feeling of a customer being told to get out of the shop or my unfinished plate being taken away by the waiter without even asking was really hard to bear. Re: Mojo Homes 248Jul 07, 2016 10:10 pm Hi All. So sorry to hear some of the problems people have been having because at this stage in our build we have nothing but praise for Mojo and their building team here in the Newcastle area. Our sales and contract etc was through Sydney but colours and electrical in the Hunter. We are very impressed and excited with our progress. Since my last post we had a site meeting (14/6) where we went through the electrical checking everything was as planned. The aircon was in. solar was on the roof, the balcony was waterproofed, exterior render had started along with the gyprock upstairs. Only problem we found was a change to our entry doorway to the family room due to it being a load bearing area. We were a bit disappointed but discussions with our SS Nick soon had that sorted. Drove by on 1/7 Render had been completed and most of exterior had been painted. Nick (SS) was on site so allowed us in to have a quick look. It was great!! The inside was completely gyprocked and plastered. Made it look like a real house. Unfortunately we couldnt get upstairs as the stairs hadnt been delivered and when Nick checked up he said they hadnt been made yet so the scaffolding would have to stay at the front till they were in. The rest of the scaffolding was being taken down on Tuesday. Phone call from Nick today to give us an update. The electrical has been completed upstairs. The stairs and kitchen are due on Monday. Plasterers will be back to do the garage and then the roof will go on the same. (They hadnt been able to do this before now due to the scaffolding). The tilers have been booked for the 18th. Nick has kept us updated all the way through so we havent had to question anything. Hope others at the building stage are doing as well. Would love to see some updated photos. Plan to drive by once scaffoldings down and will post our latest pics then. Re: Mojo Homes 249Jul 08, 2016 7:34 am Great to hear this kind of feedback Ms Shanty we're in the very early stages of tendering at the moment dealing with Newcastle and building at Catherine Hill Bay and have nothing but good things to say so far .....and only hope it continues ! Re: Mojo Homes 250Jul 08, 2016 8:20 am Has anyone opted to have their flooring done by Mojo? I am thinking of vinyl or laminate throughout the house? Re: Mojo Homes 251Jul 12, 2016 4:41 pm Hi all, thought I'd join this thread as we are building the Nova 31 - really love the open plan layout and it fits on our narrow block We are now on the construction list and cant wait to get this house started. I can see some mixed reviews, all I can say is were lucky to have great service, we liked the display home in Gregory Hills, signed the tender and all our appointment have been really smooth - we did requested all appointments at their next available time slot. So far only upgrade, floor to wall tiles and tile upgrades. Hoping the build process is smooth. Our lender has given us terrible customer service and after many complaints its good to see things finally progressing. Charles Re: Mojo Homes 252Jul 15, 2016 3:26 pm hello there, we have been advised we need to do hydraulic design for complying development certificate. I assume it has something to do with storm water retention. Has anyone else had to do this? and when has the builder advised you of this. For us it was post contract, and just prior the CDC lodgement, which is seeming to push the time out. architect, blogger at homedesignedge.com, Spacesave.co and author of Guide to Planning and Building a Home on a Budget Re: Mojo Homes 253Jul 15, 2016 5:02 pm Just read through this whole thread. It's a really valuable experience for a first time builder. I'm currently getting tenders from 3 builders, for similar 2 storey homes. In the end it'll come down to price and inclusions...I guess. I've attached a copy of the Nova 32 floor plan, with the modifications we've asked for. If anyone would like to comment on the modifications or building with Mojo(beyond what is already in this thread) I'd appreciate everything Knock Down Rebuild in Lake Macquarie July 2016 - Getting tenders from Metricon, Masteron and Mojo. Re: Mojo Homes 254Jul 15, 2016 5:12 pm Hello Michael589010, We did similar changes on the ground floor adding a shower and grand alfresco. We also asked about adding to the garage, but then went away from it as it didn't work for our site. Are you swapping your bed 2 with your retreat to get better views? because otherwise would make your place feel more enclosed when you go up the stairs. at tender stage you'll get a price, but you won't get a plan that shows all the changes until the plans stage architect, blogger at homedesignedge.com, Spacesave.co and author of Guide to Planning and Building a Home on a Budget Re: Mojo Homes 255Jul 15, 2016 5:27 pm ahoythere Hello Michael589010, We did similar changes on the ground floor adding a shower and grand alfresco. Where did you fit the shower downstairs? What are your overall impressions of Mojo? Which city are you in? I'm really keen to have some storage/workshop in the garage...we'll see. Regarding swapping the bedroom / retreat. It's mostly to give the kids a playroom with sound separation from the master and not in the line of sight for the stairs, being the messiest room in the house. Not sure if it's a good idea? It may create a sound problem being directly above the downstairs family room...who knows Knock Down Rebuild in Lake Macquarie July 2016 - Getting tenders from Metricon, Masteron and Mojo. We initially picked Nova 32 but decided to go with 33 as it had wider entrance and came with a 1200mm wide front door and bigger rooms as well. Interesting mod to first floor. I was thinking when you walk up the stairs, you'd be walking to a wall? With that mod? Below are our plans. Hi, Yeah, we are planning to convert HT to Bed 5 if required. Hi, Yeah, we are planning to convert HT to Bed 5 if required. Cheers, Vithal Thanks Vithal. We are tossing up between Enigma 41 and a Clarendon design and considering the option of converting study downstairs to bedroom and ensuite. It does affect the open plan feeling of the house so wondering whether HT can serve as bedroom if needed for elderly guests. Re: Mojo Homes 260Jul 15, 2016 9:16 pm Hello Michael589010, We are basing off Nova 38, and ditching the indent to the toilet, that allowed space for the shower. Ours is in Sydney. This is our first experience of project home building. Have no issue with the service so far, its just that things take a while between departments. what you describe being separated from master and from stairs are more like attributes of a bedroom. The only thought about in place of bed 2 is its in front of the toilet door. Functionally and acoustically understand it though. The one thing I find different about Nova from others is that its got the Master naturally separated by the mini corridor. HomeTweetHome I asked for the Nova 38 and made the study a little larger to pass as a guest bedroom, but its not going to have an ensuite. I saw on the website there are mods to have master bed and ensuite on ground, but it does make the entry feel a bit enclosed. hello shams did you get onto the construction list ahead or after the tender expiry date? architect, blogger at homedesignedge.com, Spacesave.co and author of Guide to Planning and Building a Home on a Budget Is anyone building with Mojo and have a recent site cost tender 0 12247 Hi all, We are considering Enigma 46 from Mojo Homes in Gables, NSW.
