Re: Mojo Homes 82Dec 21, 2015 3:14 pm lalou, when did yours start? Jay31, is yours complying development? Did you make much changes from their base scheme? architect, blogger at homedesignedge.com, Spacesave.co and author of Guide to Planning and Building a Home on a Budget Re: Mojo Homes 83Dec 22, 2015 10:07 am lalou seriously is anyone making any progress with these people? Can't understand why it's taking so long and the expiry date isn't looking too far away. wondering if this is all a delaying tactic to take you past the 242 days and then put the price up??? anyone else? Hello, We are feeling the same! Our tender ends in feb and our application has just been sent to Council. Make sure you ask them about landscape plan because we were ask last minute to provide this and luckily we manage to find someone that was able to do it for us within the next day especially during this time of year. Re: Mojo Homes 84Dec 22, 2015 10:16 am ahoythere lalou, when did yours start? Jay31, is yours complying development? Did you make much changes from their base scheme? Hello, ours is a KDR. We only made about 3 changes as the sale person told us to keep it minimal to speed things up so we did that. Every appointment made we accept as didnt want to delay the process however it has still taken 7mths to even get to council (application was mailed out last friday). This is my first time building so im not sure if its usually a slow process like this? We still have to wait at least 3mths for council approval so definitely will be going out tender agreement when we r not the one slowing the process down. Re: Mojo Homes 85Dec 23, 2015 9:46 pm Hi, Me and my partner have been dealing with Allworth homes, we have had nothing but trouble through out our progress. From the day we walked into the sales office we should not have gone further, my lack of knowledge and experience didn't help either. Me and my partner are 21 and this will be our first home together. So why not build I said! It's been almost 11 months since we done this and we were told we should be able able to spend Christmas in our new home. Long story short our plans got approved at council on the 27/11/2015, I think it was in council for just over a month due to not having the correct documents submitted causing huge delays. In turn our tender period ran out on the 27/11/2015.. Go figure, so we got slapped with a $5000 price increase, we weighed up our option; loosing $5k first home owners or paying $5k out of pocket for the price increase. We then came across mojo homes. We loved the house, the inclusions and most important the service was there! Re: Mojo Homes 86Dec 23, 2015 9:48 pm Jay31 ahoythere lalou, when did yours start? Jay31, is yours complying development? How has you experience been with mojo homes? 3 months for council approval seems a bit rough? Why do you expect it to take that long? Re: Mojo Homes 87Dec 23, 2015 9:54 pm Hi guys Has anyone actually signed contracts and gone through council and began building? We got told it should take about 10 months from tender to handover (if we made no major changes to the plans)... What's everyone else experiences? We are building on the watagan park estate located in the Lake Macquarie region. We were told approx 3mths council approval due to this time of year. I cant imagine how long it would take for the people who makes alot of changes and delaying in getting back to them. Mojo inclusions are great! Alot of their standards would be an upgrade with other builders, customer service wise have also been consistent. Our sales person and client liason always get back to us with updates. I think its just their process that drag and no matter how fast u try to speed it up u cant but sounds like its the same with other builder? Mojo inclusion had almost everything we upgraded with Allworth included with better inclusions (brands etc). We done our first original tender in May with Allworth, paid deposit and got our prelim plans back for approval. At this stage we didn't realise they done there surveys wrong resulting in having to flip the house and redraw... (They charged us for re draw even though it was there fault) we already had colours and everything done by this stage I think it was in September, got our new drawings back in October and submitted to council on the 20/10/15 went through council in just over a month and got approved on the day our tender ran out. 27/11/15 We then didn't hear anything for awhile and got a call last week saying I need to come asap to sign contracts before the end of the year because we close in 2 days. And constriction should take 17 weeks to complete But at that point I had enough and pulled the pin with Allworth and signed and paid with mojo Re: Mojo Homes 90Dec 24, 2015 9:34 am Firstbuilders Jay31 Firstbuilders Hi guys Has anyone actually signed contracts and gone through council and began building? We have not yet come across any major issue yet. We paid our deposit back in May and just got to council. I guess i wouldnt be panicking and be more patient with them if we didnt have to pay the tender interest, ours end at the end of jan so its quite frasturating as it wasnt us slowing the process down. Have a good read because I doubt it especially if you have finace approved because banks don't like doing revaluations if already done. Have a look when you got you preliminary agreement our tender says 242 days but the agreement says 365 days Re: Mojo Homes 96Dec 27, 2015 7:01 pm i didn't realise the bit about the tender interest. i thought once we signed the construction contract the price was fixed. if you're still on the hook for tender interest how do you make sure that it's not still mojo slowing the process down and delaying the start of construction and costing you money that way? agreed with others who say that none of the delays so far have been down to us!! Re: Mojo Homes 97Dec 28, 2015 3:22 pm Hi guys, my husband and I are looking into Mojo homes to build on a block of land we have purchased at Chisholm in Newcastle. The service we have received so far has been amazing and can't fault it. We got our tender back in 4 days and just had a meeting with the sales consultant even though he is technically on holidays for the xmas shut down! We love the level of inclusions and value for money but being they are so new there isn't a lot of feedback yet. We are considering going with them but just so unsure. We only finished building our first home on the central coast 7 months ago with Beechwood which came with typical build and communication problems. Hubby REALLY doesn't want to go with them so hence we are looking at other builders. Can anyone shed some light on them and if they have started building yet?
