Browse Forums Building A New House Coral Homes general build thread 7481Feb 18, 2017 6:49 am When I had a regular mortgage with suncorp with my last house, they were fantastic beginning to end. I have my mortgage now with st george, and although its fine now, I had so many post handover issues with them ( including organising final stage cheque). Having said that, they only had to pay 2.5 stage invoices and they always paid quickly. They were also excellent with the approvals and valuing of land and construction phase too. So pretty happy with them, better to have pay issues after the build and not before. I only have a handful I'll deal with for construction loans lol some just make it way too hard! But they get the construction stuff wrong so often... Even though I do this all the time, even my lender has made a big boo boo with ours but because it's to our benefit I have just let it slide lol. They still have not asked for our contribution and we are up to the 4th payment... So it just sits in my offset account Re: Coral Homes general build thread 7483Feb 18, 2017 7:01 am Sorry me again. Has anyone who has rendered the front of your house left it as MDF above windows? and if yes does it sit flush once rendered or can you see where mdf is? Also is it 1000mm that you should allow to fit all fridges? Thanks everyone Re: Coral Homes general build thread 7484Feb 18, 2017 5:12 pm Went out to our block in Mundoolun today and I think there's another daydream being built in our stage - exciting and bit of a worry I can make this out off the concrete pad! Check all elevations as it was only noted on one single elevation that the whole lot was recessed. I spoke to my SS during construction as the only reason we deleted brick infills was because we thought it would be a waste if we were rendering the whole house anyway. Front facade though I would imagine would be brick infills as standard, wouldn't it? Unfortunately even though our Blueboard was flushed out with the bricks, you can still see lines in the render where it joins. It isn't seamless. C U S T O M. C O R A L. We have to choose some this weekend and I'm no good at this stuff. Is 250mm too small? We have the dropped ceiling in our kitchen, i was worried it may feel too enclosed with pendants so went for something completely different. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck.
