Kind of what I wanted but out of our price range. Grats on your pillars getting fixed. Hopefully full steam ahead now. Given our land registration has been delayed until approx the end of March, the delays with Wisdom have actually worked in our favour. I'm thinking a late June or July start, but not holding my breath. At least we get to put a pool in beforehand so something will be happening on site And after reading the latest posts I think I'll suggest to hubby we put a temp fence up as soon as the land registers. May as well, my husband's work hires them out If you can have everything into council by April, and approval early May, I would expect that you would be in construction by July. Are you doing appointments before contract signing or thereafter? Hopefully the time from when you start appointments until CDC approval runs smoothly and you are not having to chase anyone. I know a lot happens in the background at Wisodm during this time, and some of it is out of your CSO's control. Once you get your plans and they are 100% correct (that was our biggest time delay), you should move forward much quicker. Does the developer allow approval before land is registered? (I know ours wouldn't approve until thereafter, although it didn't affect us as our land registered in December 2015, and we started talking to Wisdom in January 2016.) If so, that will save you a couple of weeks. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 4146Feb 15, 2017 10:21 pm Great to see the board alive and hear of everyone's tales tonight, with good news/progress reported for most. Thanks for the updates and hopefully progress continues for all. If so, that will save you a couple of weeks. Yes, the developer is encouraging us to get our plans to them while we are waiting for registration. I think most in our release will be ready to go since we all exchanged on the land back in August. We have had kitchen and tile and carpet appointments and accepted our quotes, aircon is booked for Monday 27th. Landscaping, colours and electrical are after contract signing but I expect we won't have to wait long for these. And stairs- you've all made me want to make our stairs more of a feature so I'm thinking of making yet more sacrifices to the already plain front facade so I can stain them black. I figure we can always add render and what not down the track but we'd be stuck with plain stairs. Fingers crossed our working drawings come back without loads of errors. We didn't change the floorplan at all, just changed a few windows and added a balcony to the front facade- nothing complicated. We have a few changes we want to make now- adding a door to the WIL, increasing the height of the laundry sliding door and changing the direction that our stacker door opens. I don't expect those changes to delay things by much, surely Building Monte Carlo 40- Wisdom homes Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 4148Feb 16, 2017 5:21 am We officially hit 3 months waiting on our plans yesterday. My Home Central called to try and book our appointments again but we still can't because we need the plans first due to our altered powder room/laundry layout. She said she would chase our plans but I won't hold my breath. I haven't been able to get a response from anyone in 3 weeks now...even an in person visit to our sales guy only got that he had forgotten to follow up despite my weekly emails. We also got a notice this week that earthworks are complete on our land so there is a good chance we are going to register early. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 4149Feb 16, 2017 5:49 am Jordann Rocchet So we forked out $1500 to clear the land today. Unless you have photographic evidence of them actually doing it, there's not much you can do about the dumpers. Even when it's obvious who it is Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Then my husband whipped up a makeshift fence Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Fortunately Wisdom have been great and have booked the fence to go up tomorrow. Hopefully prevent any more dumping. What a buch of A hole.. I would have came at night and dump it back on their block. haha At least it's looking good now, when is your slab going down? Wisdom are ready to go. Our bank is holding us up. The 1 week formal approval process is 4 weeeks in now. First they lost the valuation which had to be reorganised. Now they keep saying it will be ready next business day but it never is. Our broker has escalated and put in a complaint. Hoping if it comes in this week we'll be in construction within 3 weeks. majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 4151Feb 16, 2017 3:00 pm lhyngo Kirst10 We had this problem too. Are u with westpac by any chance? We really had to push to get the payment schedule changed. And it took about a month, went to the General Mgr and a lot of tears. We had our heart on this house. Had gotten too far down the path to go back and start with another builder. We had to use the 'if u don't change it, we'll have to go with another builder' line. Which was true. They ended up changing it to suit the banks needs. But we had to beg! Hi kirst10, thanks a lot for your input. We're with Suncorp. As far as changing builders is concerned, we really don't have any choice because we got a house and land package, so unfortunately we're stuck with WH. I really don't understand, if there's already an industry standard, why can't they just follow it?!? We might ask our lender to speak to WH directly and hopefully they can talk some sense to them. Hi lhyngo I also purchased a H&L package with WH. I am in the very early stages. Any tips or things to watch out for? For some stupid reason, they are are saying that the window in our bedroom 3 & 4 is too wide and we'll need to reduce it to go through CDC. Apparently neighbours privacy or something? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So instead of a 2400mm wide window, we'll have to down size it to 1800mm wide. Not a big loss but I just don't see how reducing the width will make it any better? Weird policies.
