Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 22, 2013 9:28 am Hi all Been racking my brain trying to work out what type of tree this is. We are thinking of planting this tree in our front yard as we are looking for something that looks highly ornamental Found this tree in the front of the Simonds Leon display in Berry Lane Mernda I have spent some time on the trusty Google and I think it may be a Robinia pseudoacacia 'Lace Lady'. But these grow quite large so Id be surprised if this is what it is and that there are so many of them in a small front yard at a display home... there were 5+ from memory. Do you have any close up photos of the leaves? Were there any flowers? Just seeing as something is going to grow big doesn't seem to stop gardeners these days; they put it in for how it looks at the moment and just cut it down when it gets too large. Your other option is to contact Simonds directly and ask them what the tree is. Good luck Re: what tree is this? 3Nov 22, 2013 1:57 pm grom40 It looks a bit like an ornamental crabapple tree that I have in my garden but really hard to tell from a distance.
