Everyone is just flying with the builds! Congrats!!! With all of this rain it's been good to see if there are any issues. A couple of our lounge room windows had leaks, water coming in on to the window sill. Luckily it didn't drip to the floor because if you don't clean up water/liquid from the floor straight away- be warned, the laminate floors WILL warp my cat had a little incident after being scared by some noise the other day outside. It was dark so I didn't realise until morning...the floor in a small section is now warped! Thankfully it's not in an easily to see spot because of furniture placement. The SS came the next day and sealed the window. Everything else has been fine though! The internet seems to have sorted itself out too. We found a workman in our estate that is excavating the land near us. He is getting us 16metres of good quality soil and spreading it over our backyard for us!! He hasn't asked for any money but we will definitely offer it. We are just waiting for the weather to be a bit nicer to us. Blog: http://dandesbuild.blogspot.com.au Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1612Jun 29, 2014 10:13 pm Funny you should mention that, Pooks! I "let myself in" to the house today, to find this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is a picture window that doesn't open. How in the world is it leaking? I took a pic and sent it off to my CLC. I want that fixed stat! Also, not happy with the placement of the doorknob. I know this is a temporary one, but the hole will surely be used for the deadbolt. I don't have a full length pic, but here is the door: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The deadbolt will be at the top of the 2nd panel. Surely being so high off center will affect its ability to prevent intrusion. One good hip and shoulder and I'd be in. This is where I expected the door hardware to be placed: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I mentioned this too, but I'm betting they give me a fight about it because they don't want to absorb the cost of the door. 19.03.14 - Land Settlement 15.04.14 - Building Permit 28.04.14 - Earthworks 14.05.14 - Slab Stage 20.05.14 - Frame Stage 11.06.14 - Lock Up Stage 03.07.14 - Fix Stage 15.08.14 - New Home Presentation Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1613Jun 29, 2014 10:31 pm Pooks, GG...i know its bad to see the windows leaking...but a good thing too...so tht we know it is and get it fixed asap... we 've been off to our site and painting is over...but i dont see any other things fixed yet except trough..but i have been invoiced for fixing on last THu... has this been the case with u all? Yes, I tried to look at it like this. Just broke my heart to see a pool of water on the windowsill. Good for you, bkoolrocks! You're giving them a run for their money with their stages. They should be challenged. I guess they'll be painting our place next week. I get SO much moisture on the inside of my master and ensuite window. It's because the seals are too short I think. I think with yours GG (and my lounge) they hVe sealed the frames properly.
