I quickly check our facade color if the choices are alright(As if I can still change the color). I really enjoyed it! Thanks. Just to update you all. We went to visit today. We thought we couldnt go in as the front door has been installed and all door locked. We manage to sneak in somewhere. Then hubby open the front door for us. It was a beautiful feeling going inside the house, nearly there! Well, The Kitchen cupboards has been installed and the island bench. I was so happy that we increase the width of the island bench to 900mm. So far the color are alright. Very nervous if it wouldnt match. The bathroom cabinets are all installed. The bedrooms door installed. So far so good with our new SS R@D, things are moving. I want to give him a big hug! Hi Pooks, we are almost in the same stage. The did almost the same job this week. Thanks for the info abt the antenna. You are a fountain of knowledge. Hows your cat? Hope they are alright now. Welcome Ashman25, We are building in Manor Lakes. Our land is elevated. The retaining wall and removing of rocks took almost a month. So include that on the building time. We are now on Week18. My tip for you, every communication put on email. They are forgetful. If something is wrong ask for compensation. Good Luck! Mtreg21, Im with you. Most of us has to ask for extension. What I can say about Res@lve!!!!! We had also major issue with bluebay valuation. Waste of money. We got our mortgage from ANZ. But in fairness Z@ey is very helpful from Res@lve. Talk to her its much better. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 802Mar 09, 2014 9:45 pm Shaynna has me running scared, too! Maybe I'll compensate with massive storage in the garage! Probably won't fit the car in with all my stuff. 19.03.14 - Land Settlement 15.04.14 - Building Permit 28.04.14 - Earthworks 14.05.14 - Slab Stage 20.05.14 - Frame Stage 11.06.14 - Lock Up Stage 03.07.14 - Fix Stage 15.08.14 - New Home Presentation Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 803Mar 10, 2014 1:53 pm Just been checking out the price of frameless mirrored wardrobe doors and I'm regretting not getting them through hbc now They were only $450 from memory but I can't seem to find them that price let alone any cheaper online anywhere bummer! It's too late now to change but will be discussing my issues with a manager especially if I have to pay $59 interest a day until settlement! Will be on the phone to them tomorrow! Not happy! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 806Mar 11, 2014 2:54 pm I'll probably do a photo bucket or a blog soon for our build Just gotta get the photos off the camera. I always loose our camera cord to the computer. Pooks - Can't believe how quick they are moving for you! How fantastic Everything is looking great. Glad to hear your cat is okay too My husband seems to think once a week drive by is enough… I've been telling him we need to go past more than that. Going to swing past tomorrow after work. With the public holiday and chances of thunderstorms around here, I don't know how much they could have gotten done for slab pour. Hopefully I'll be surprised tomorrow. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 807Mar 11, 2014 5:19 pm Thanks Niccles I hope you get a nice surprise tomorrow when you go to check progress! We have been visiting about 2-3 times a week which I think is a bit much but my partner can't help himself, he gets so impatient! My kitty cat Gizmo is on a prescribed diet for life, and a 4 course injection so he is setting me back about $110 a week for the next month....not a fun financial time Is anyone having to arrange their own fencing or is it the land estate that is doing it? I'm having difficulty! I have a vacant block behind me and on the side (nothing to the left of us as we are at the end of a no through road). I obtained owner details of the blocks from Council about 6 weeks ago and sent them letters with a fencing quote asking them to contact me to arrange...no response. I have tried calling too. So today I have sent second letters via registered post and asked them to respond by 14th April because I really need to have this sorted to go up before we move in because of pets. I think it's a bit rude that I've had no response. By doing registered mail I can take it through a dispute resolution process in a month if needed but I hope I don't get to that. So a word of advice- if you have to get on to fencing...do it early as it may take your whole build to get something done! We definitely need to get onto to it then! How did you find out who your neighbours are? I have been told by a couple of people that by law they have to respond, if not to you then to an order by a fencing contractor - but don't quote me! Is this what you mean by sending it via registered post etc? They put on the quote: your address and share of costs and your neighbours address and share of costs. Then contact the local Council and request a fencing form to obtain your neighbours details. They give you the names, address of their build and current postal address. You then send them a letter outlining the fencing you are proposing, the specs of it (height/colour etc), the costs and the quotes and ask them to respond within 4 weeks. The fencing company can help you out if you have no luck but if it takes ages you might find yourself paying full costs while still chasing them. The laws changed in VIC this year thankfully so there is a dispute resolution centre that can take it further...not exactly the neighbourly way to start which is why I hope I don't have to go that far! I just googled "fencing letter to neighbour" as a guide on what to write and made reference to our estate guidelines for fencing too. Everywhere I read recommends registered post which is why I have done that with the second letter so there is no excuses. http://www.fencingonline.com.au for laws. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 815Mar 11, 2014 8:25 pm Can I just say - perhaps as devil's advocate here - that people are paying their rent / mortgage and may be *just* making it and while I can totally understand the need for fences for pets (we'll need some too), sending registered letters to your future neighbours so early in the game may start the relationships off with their backs up? I'm sure everyone wants a fence, but give them breathing space? I also agree with what you are saying about the expenses but I have those too. Our estate guidelines require them up so I was actually being courteous by giving as much notice as possible by writing early...to be honest it's not the end of the world if fences aren't up but when neighbours start complaining to me that my cats are roaming in their yard, I would like to do the right thing and keep them contained and secure my property and belongings. At the end of the day, the polite thing to do is respond. Blog: http://dandesbuild.blogspot.com.au Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 817Mar 12, 2014 7:07 pm I don't think there is anything wrong with getting the fences organised early, and in fact if anything the neighbours should be thanking you for organising the quotes which makes their lives easier... Yes I know there is the rent/mortgage thing but we are all in the same boat and fencing should be a cost factor when you think about building. Some estates even require you to have fencing before you even move in. And some people don't build straight away etc so what, are you supposed to wait for them to finish their build? Everyone is going to be at different stages but that shouldn't stop one owner from getting fences up I don't think.
