Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Mar 28, 2013 9:12 am I'm hoping some of you can give your opinions on the colours for the facade. We will likely go with the Barwon Facade Bricks will be Vic Blue- with timber stained windows and front door (garage unsure of)- to give some indication of the colour (although I'm sure many of you will be aware of how they look irl) We would go with the off white mortar.... Ebony roof and monument gutters. I am wondering about the rendered columns at the front- thinking of either Dulux ticking or Beige Royal If we go with the Dulux ticking, will it all be too dark? Do think it would look ok to have surfmist fascia to brighten it up a bit, or will it look out of place? Perhaps the panel above the garage door could be lighter also? Any suggestions? Thanks! Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: fascia colour help 2Mar 28, 2013 12:01 pm I'd definitely go with the lighter render. It will work in well with your mortar and give a lovely contrast to your bricks. I'd probably stick with Monument for the fascia. It will be a really simple but striking facade with the dark bricks and roof, light render and the wood. Just one suggestion, have you thought about upgrading to brick above the garage instead of the panel? You can notice the difference in the real life pic with your bricks that you posted. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: fascia colour help 3Mar 28, 2013 12:16 pm Thanks so much for the input. Simple and striking is definitely what we would be looking for. I had thought about having bricks above the garage, it does look nice in that pic of the local house. In regards to the fascia, i think you are right. Also, just under the roofline at the front of the house (sorry, I'm sure there is a proper name for it!) , it will be a light colour which should give a bit of depth, with the dark fascia and guttering. My technical term for it is " the stuff under the eaves"! You're going to have a great looking house! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: fascia colour help 5Mar 28, 2013 12:44 pm I learned something today There you go! I didn't even know those were actually the eaves Thanks for the encouragement. It's quite overwhelming when you've never really thought about this stuff before! Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: fascia colour help 7Mar 29, 2013 5:32 pm d@n, windows and door will be timber, not sure of the stain yet, haven't gotten that far...I don't want anything too grey so Dune would be out, I would like it really, really neutral and quite light. I was originally thinking Surfmist fascia... but I don't want too much going on, I want the bricks to be the focal point. Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: fascia colour help 8Apr 01, 2013 10:13 am ok, we have moved away from this facade now... I've found a brick we love at a fraction of the cost. Complete change of direction Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Thankyou so much ๐ I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK ๐ 2 7137 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3212 Hi there, we have classic cream gutters, fasciaโs, roller door and undercover carport. We are are going to paint the roof a terracotta orange colour. After some… 0 4490 |
