Our thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67954 Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 204Oct 17, 2012 10:15 am MrsT12 I was just wondering what kind of flooring comes as part of the baseline price with the Amalfi houses? The only flooring included are the tiles you mentioned to wet areas. Unfortunately/ fortunately the flooring were taken out of the inclusions when the prices were slashed by $30,000. Their flooring prices aren't that great so it might be a good idea to get them done after handover. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 205Oct 17, 2012 11:48 am Ohhhhhhhhhh okay, I see. New to the forum and am building the Emporio ER 432. Everything has been going well and will update our progress as we go. Have enjoyed following everyone's comments so thought I would join in. Cheers. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 207Oct 18, 2012 10:46 am Welcome aboard Mick - keen to see how everything goes. We have our interior design appointment tomorrow so might be able to give an update as well. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 208Oct 18, 2012 11:04 am Thanks, just got back from the house...Argus guys just finishing the TV/data cable etc.. prewire. Brickies did an awesome job!!! They finished this morning. Plastering starts tommorow!! Very happy with everything!! Great Supervisor on my job helps!! Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 209Oct 18, 2012 11:09 am Forgot to mention...good luck with the colour appointment. We found it to be a great experience with good advice and tips on colour selection etc... Didn't rush us through at all. Actually it took all day and was enjoyable overall. I recommend that you look at houses already built to confirm your satisfaction with brick choice. We changed our selection after visiting a house constructed using our original selection. Big difference between a sample and the real thing!! Boral will give you some addresses to swing past if you ring them. Cheers, mick. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 210Oct 19, 2012 4:04 pm Anyone who signed contract, knowing the drawing is wrong (things we've selected which are already in the contract cost) and to be corrected through post contract variation ? Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 212Oct 21, 2012 11:12 am ttva Anyone who signed contract, knowing the drawing is wrong (things we've selected which are already in the contract cost) and to be corrected through post contract variation ? I'm a bit hesitant at the moment... If you got that in writing, you should be OK, if otherwise, i'd put it in writing and ask them to acknowledge it before signing anything. You can never be too careful. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 213Oct 22, 2012 2:11 pm Thanks guys !! I have got those changes all in writing and building contract SIGNED today .. finally !!! Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 214Oct 22, 2012 6:55 pm Plaster just about finished, top floor bricks clean and eaves started today!! Gee they don't muck about. Things really moving along nicely now. Stairs and kitchen coming soon. Still hopeful of a handover before years end!! Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 215Oct 22, 2012 9:34 pm Hi Mick, what facade is your house? Would love to see some photos of your house finish ! Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 216Oct 23, 2012 3:48 pm Hi TVA, I have opted for the Orleans facade. Looks great! Went for boral iron bark in brick choice. What about you? Yes I will post some photos for you when scaffolding comes down. Week or so I think. Cheers, Mick. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 217Oct 23, 2012 11:04 pm Hi Mick, We chose Orleans as well. Did you go with part render? We chose Austral Blackwood, part render. I've always wanted to see an Orleans with part render in real life. Would be very glad if that's your choice as well. Would be keen to see your photos anyway! Thanks! Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 218Oct 24, 2012 9:36 am Yes we did go part render and off white brick mortar. Must admit I was a little disappointed with the off white. It didn't achieve the look I was after. I had my brick work fully raked, perhaps that had something to do with it. Anyway if I had my time again I would have saved the $900 it cost me!! Just met supervisor on site and stairs go in Monday. Then full steam ahead with fixing stage. As soon as the scaffold is down I will post some photos for you. Cheers, Mick. What is wrong with the mortar Mick? We've gone with rolled off-white mortar against the boral brown terrain bricks, do not really want to waste the $950 (seems high!) if it looks bad! Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 220Oct 24, 2012 10:14 am Hi zero, It's not that it looks bad. It just fell short Of what I expected. I didn't feel as though it really highlighted the brickwork...if that makes sense. My neighbor who is also building a mainvue home went natural rolled finish and I think his looks more defined than mine. I suspect it has a lot to do with the fact mine are raked. All that said zero....very happy with the brickwork. Hope that helps......I think with your rolled finish it would really hit the mark. Especially with your brick color. Good luck with the build!!!! Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24828 I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home. Not only did I find Matt Lowe patronising and a bully, but the home is NOT TO CODE. I have water coming through the bricks… 1 14389 Hi we are looking to talk to people who have built with them recently. We have signed mid range built contract but identified that a lot of things are not included.… 0 727 |
