You guessed it right, Yes leeleh Has anyone opted NOT to do any undermount sink? Our sink will be on the bank bench and I was thinking maybe this is more practical, not to mention cheaper for saving the price of the undercount and the almost $500 for cutting and polishing the hole for it. We have our tile appointment on Friday and I am STILL deciding on a colour scheme. No amount of pictures are helping lol We didn't go for undermount. Might look better, but we thought maybe not practical... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10364Aug 27, 2015 7:04 am 1st time builders MinandB Yay! Consolidated pack signed - A few things still not 100% but nothing major. Site works date given today - 3 September! Congrats... So exciting! Roll on 3rd September...they are known to go to site earlier than they say too. Ours was cut 2 days earlier than the date were told. You can only hope right Ha thanks 1st time! hopefully that happens! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10365Aug 27, 2015 7:30 am Fairly certain our sink is not undermount either.. can't remember. Maybe this is the reason that Clarendon don't upsell much because they find it hard to give good reasons for the upgrade costs? Also.. no amount of pictures have helped me to decide on light fixtures.. I have some idea on about 10% of the fixtures.. but no idea at all for the rest Paddington 29 @ Blue Horizon Estate (Lot 105, Wattleridge Crescent, North Kellyville) Our Build Progress Blog: http://light487.wordpress.com/ Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10366Aug 27, 2015 7:46 am Unless you have a diamond kitchen or have upgraded the sink, you don't get undermount in Queensland. I was 100% going to upgrade to undermount but now I'm thinking about it and we have moved the sink off the island I'm wondering if practicality of a normal sink might be best. Light487 - light fixtures are hard! They can change an entire atmosphere in a room. Haha I know that's no help. Sorry! Just wanted to say I'm feeling you Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10368Aug 27, 2015 8:53 am SandD42 bmitchel SandD42 Bmitchel are you building in capestone by any chance? Yup, Stage 7. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10369Aug 27, 2015 8:54 am elisen Do you remember the REALLY massive one at the colour studio? It was built into the cuboard nearish to the laundry stuff and had the water filter connected to it... http://www.oliveri.com.au/downloads/spe ... TN890U.pdf I'm guessing you are in NSW I'm in QLD. I have some idea on about 10% of the fixtures.. but no idea at all for the rest We upgraded to the undermount sink as it looks better. I also like the fact that the bowls are both large as opposed to the stock standard one. I wanted to get the sprayer thingy as well but was talked out of it by the lady @ colour appt. I agreed with her it just wasn't practical. i.e. you still have to use the mixer, unlike other models which have a button on the end of the nozzle etc... she was right of course so, its good to see they don't push this stuff. Tiles appointment they suggested we could upgrade tiles etc for a small amount in certain areas etc. We didn't end upgrading any tiles but we did get some mosaics. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10371Aug 27, 2015 9:54 am Update on us.... Painters were due beginning of this week but are delayed due to illness. Tomorrow is a holiday here on the gold coast so they will just be starting Monday now and will take a week to finish.. Plumbing and electrical fitoff will commence the following week.. Handover still expected end of September... maybe first few days of October... fingers crossed... We are 16 weeks since site cut. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10373Aug 27, 2015 10:10 am There's so many things happening at the moment, I'm not really sure what is happening next. I know we have Houspect coming to do second stage waterproofing inspection on Monday, which means that the tiling for bathrooms are not far off. I know the ss mentioned kitchen stuff was going to be starting soon. Once that gyprocking is done, it's like everything goes into overdrive. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10374Aug 27, 2015 10:21 am SandD42 We sure did bmitchel! Amazing how quickly prices changed. We managed to nab a 559m2 block too backing onto trees The price difference and block size is pretty different in Stage 7 & Stage 8 compared to Stage 5, 6 etc. I think Stage 9 is going to have larger blocks, so the price difference is possibly due to Stage 7/8 being closer to the future lake which starts construction later next year. Good to see another person on h1 who is building with Clarendon in Capestone. Only other person I know of in Capestone on here is building with Coral, also in Markwell. You must be getting closed to being finished since you are in Stage 5. How have you found your build with Clarendon and how do you find your SS? I assume we are going to end up with the same SS whom I think name starts with D from memory. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10375Aug 27, 2015 10:49 am bmitchel SandD42 We sure did bmitchel! Haha i still think we will be in walking distance to the lake so im very happy with where i got a block. We are currently at wet area tiling. Im going for a look this afternoon and hopefully will see a start. They laid the screed two days ago. Yes i have SS d. He is a nice guy just very absent in the process. No meet and greet at the start or even a call we just happen to bump into him on site and requested a walk through and thats the most we have had to do with him Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10376Aug 27, 2015 10:54 am SandD42 Yeah i agree about the block sizes. Which had to be zero-lot as well. I thought generally you got a meet at the start but fair enough. I guess as long as he is accessible when you request a walk through then fair enough. Have you had any issues with your build so far? Have you got a timeline for your build just to get an idea? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10377Aug 27, 2015 11:10 am Little bit of a vent from us, we get a weekly update that i need to ask for in which more often than not the CSC is less than unhelpful and replies with "i dont know" to most questions we have. she says she will follow it up with the SS and he very rarely replies. As we are interstate it makes the whole process beyond frustrating! would be great if we could pop by the build and see the progress for ourselves. On a positive note, the scaffolding is apparently down, painters are onsite now and will be until mid next week, which is when the tiling is due to start, Can not wait to see how the house looks now that all the rendering is completed, scaffold is removed and kitchen/vanities are done hopefully our great nosey neighbours or SS will send through some photos for us soon. You'd think and meet and greet would be standard but oh well! He runs a good site. The build has gone pretty smooth so far. Major hick ups included the concrete slab being longer than it was suppose to be at our facade so our parapet just became a brick thicker so happy days. Also a big dint in the gutter from the scafolding that they have repaired without us saying anything yet. October 1st at 9am... So still 5 weeks away but we have so much on it will fly and its in the middle of the school holidays so that will keep us busy also. Excited!!!! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10380Aug 27, 2015 2:03 pm Argh just got a phone call from my CSC (who has not answered any of my calls mind you). They have stuffed up our plans and now we can't extend our alfresco due to cut/fill ratios and have to move our raintank because they put the proposed retaining wall in the wrong spot. Now we have our tank smack bang in the middle of the two windows of our family room wall and you will be able to see the tank through both windows as it only *just* fits. I try ringing the CSC back to offer alternates and surprise surprise she doesn't answer. Lets see if she bothers answering my email! the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6738 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 7863 |
