We specifically asked our BC about the shower screens we’d be getting, late last year, after reading so many complaints online about the framed shower screens people were receiving instead of the promised semi-frameless ones. Our BC reassured us, in writing, that the Grange shower screen is standard in the Master Ensuite, but that all other showers in the house would be ‘Flash’. She even took the time to send us a photo of what the ‘Flash’ looks like: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Not exactly ‘semi-frameless’, but we decided we could live with these for the other three bathrooms. So imagine our surprise when we see ‘Softline’ showers installed in every bathroom in the house: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The chunky ‘Softline’ series looks nothing like the sleeker-looking ‘Flash’ series that we were promised, in writing. Nowhere in our contract is there any mention of the word ‘Softline’. The current standard shower screen is called the ‘Grange Series Overlap’ and looks a lot like the ‘Flash’ screen we were supposed to get across the house: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This issue was escalated to Senior Management who have ‘apparently’ (nothing in writing yet) agreed to provide a Grange screen to the Master Ensuite only. So frustrated and angry about the whole thing. Honestly, if you can’t take your Building Coordinator’s word for anything, whose word are you supposed to take? It’s just not good enough. Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7567Apr 20, 2015 10:45 pm Jasdan Why bother having things in writing if they’re not going to be honoured?? Will they be removing and replacing the current semi-framed shower screen in the master ensuite? The semi-framed ones are passable in the smaller ensuites but does look less refined in the larger master ensuite shower. We clarified this earlier thanks to the debacle/discussions earlier in the forum and decided to go full frameless in the master ensuite but kept the so-called "semi-frameless" semi-framed shower screens elsewhere as they looked okay in the Waldorf display homes (Berwick and Williams Landing). PD should have amended their brochure with the semi-frameless shower screens when complaints were rolling in and informed customers then. Oh well... PD should have amended their brochure with the semi-frameless shower screens when complaints were rolling in and informed customers then. Oh well... Yeah, we thought we clarified it too, after all those discussions. That's why we're so frustrated, I guess. What was the point of clarifying if they're going to go and do something different anyway! I like the new standard screens, they look OK to me. Just not a fan of those old 'Softline' ones. And yeah, they have agreed to replace the semi-framed shower screen in the master with the semi-framed 'Grange' version, but refuse to change the others. Not sure why it's OK to address part of the email, but not the rest of it. As you said 'Oh well', and as we keep saying throughout the course of this build 'never mind' ... but it's a response that is becoming a little too overused, on our part. Glad things are progressing well at your place. Slab party soon! Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7571Apr 22, 2015 3:01 pm Our frustration with the incorrect communication about the showers is nowhere near as bad as our utter disappointment in the quality of the build: http://homesweetwaldorf.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/ongoing-issues-brickwork.html http://homesweetwaldorf.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/brickwork-overhanging-slab.html Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7572Apr 22, 2015 8:47 pm Jasdan Our frustration with the incorrect communication about the showers is nowhere near as bad as our utter disappointment in the quality of the build: http://homesweetwaldorf.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/ongoing-issues-brickwork.html http://homesweetwaldorf.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/brickwork-overhanging-slab.html Hopefully they will be rectified sooner or later. You're right about the shower screens, they pale in comparison to the above issues. If it's any consolation, the shower screens still looked quite presentable at the display homes. Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7573Apr 22, 2015 9:24 pm Hey guys, quick question about electrics. For those who got the 3 Phase for AC, Did PD put an external 3 Phase power point on your house? I cant seem to locate where they intended to put it? Not too sure what this looks like or is supposed to look like but I have what appears another "meter" box on the inside of my garage wall with a tonne of electrical leads terminating in there. There is also a load a leads going from there to my meter box My Waldorf 48 Blog: http://gisbornewillows.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7575Apr 22, 2015 9:35 pm knyght Hey Zarby. There is also a load a leads going from there to my meter box. Your second box would be for loading balancing and surge protection (which I think that you had included). On your electrical plan you should be able to find a point labelled specifically for the A/C unit. If you check out my electrical plans you will see what I'm talking about. http://bendigowaldorf.blogspot.com.au/p ... ayout.html The point should include a small 3 in the corner and have a number in the blue box to reveal the maximum current. Our system requires 32A. Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7576Apr 22, 2015 9:44 pm tlblhayward knyght Hey Zarby.
