I have 23 windows and 1 stacker door.
I have recycled 2 timber white venetians from the old house back into the kids bedrooms and they look fine (saved me about $1000). I have had a quote done for 17 white plantation shutters of various widths, lengths and material and that alone came to just under $10K. I still have 3 white timber venetians for the TV area and kids bathroom to consider, plus 3 roman blinds over the stacker door to get. The high window in the spare bedroom I'm not worrying about at this stage! All up, mine would be way over $10K
Getting so sick of the Redi shades...although they have been fabulous for instant privacy!

Thanks for your replys.
i might be best to get quotes early on then so we can start saving.
we have allowed 10k in our budget.
We have a ranch styled house so thinking either timber slates or white plantation shutters across the front (ie minor bedrooms, toy room, and media room)
and across the back other than the utility rooms we will have window tiniting for the day and roller blinds for night - we have uninterupted beautitul views of the valley - no neighbour to look in other than my horse
and what ever we do across the front we will do in the bathroom/ensuite/laundry.
Building in the Hunter Valley - 5 glorious acres.
