Does it go down the same side as the concrete footing for the a/c? I thinkwe had one installed recently also. It's from the 2nd floor down ... I could be wrong. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 1166Oct 30, 2011 3:15 pm mmk Hi STLIGL, I'm in gypbrocking stage, I spoke to my SS re. entrance porch he said that's the way they design, but I saw from other Waterfall house around Kellyville, it had a colourbond material on the top of it. What's your one? Hi mmk, Thanks for your note. I'm not exactly sure what our material is for the entrance porch roof. When you said others have colourbond material there, did you mean they have the corrugation? Ours is completely flat - see link below for to photo: http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/4800/dscf1255z.jpg I'd be very interested to see what material they put on yours, would appreciate if you an let me know please. Re your question about the downpipe on the front above the garage, ours is also around the corner (on the side and not the front). I'm currently travelling, I can take a photo to show you when I'm back if you want. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 1170Feb 17, 2012 9:19 pm We moved in approx 18 months ago. Everything is generally going well, except an issue with the design of the roof above the front entrance porch (ours is the contemporary facade). Below are some photos. http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/3422/dscf1257n.jpg http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/4800/dscf1255z.jpg http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/6176/dscf1258y.jpg 2 main issues: 1) The roof of the entrance porch is completely flat with no provisions for water drainage at all. When it rains, the water collected on top of the roof pours over the front edge of the roof like a waterfall, which then splashes all over the entrance porch area 2) The pool of water collected on top of this roof takes days to evaporate, causing algae, moss, and sometimes even mosquitoes to grow in the stagnant water. Also some dirt / algae on the front edge because this surface stays wet for a few days afterwards. Which facade do you have? If you also have the contemporary facade, do yours have a flat roof like ours? Any suggestions on how we can overcome these problems? Are there any clauses in any of the building codes which say roof areas must not be flat or must have some sort of drainage? Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 1171Feb 17, 2012 10:02 pm Funny you mentioned that. We have the Contemp. facade and have the same problem. Not so much algae and dirt, but the water cascading over the edge drenching the porch. I'm looking at ways to resolve it at the moment, however C says its the design so I have to do something myself. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 1172Feb 17, 2012 10:34 pm At last, I've found someone with the same problem! We also contacted C and they gave the same response. I'd be very interested in what solution you come up with, if you don't mind sharing. We didn't have any algae / dirt either for the first few months, but it now looks quite bad as you can see in the photos above. the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6688 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 7822 No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 6155 |
