I have to say that I do love the look of them, but the cleaning also got the better of me. It's a really cr@ppy job. I also found that they did not seal the window off , so to speak, and they let the light through the cracks in between the two blinds, and also at the edges. I don't know what I will put in the new house. Well I guess I will have plenty of time because the Bunnngs Redishades will be up for awhile as there will be no money left to buy blinds anyway Just to quote myself... and prove myself wrong...after a year and a half after moving in we have finally been able to afford and get installed the rest of our blinds. White timber venetians (5omm slat). LOVE THEM We did put a roller blockout in the main bedroom to blockout the morning sun (faces East). The venetians still do not block out all the light (as mentioned above) but they are ok. So if the kids start to complain about it I will add a curtain over them in their bedrooms... I am soooo happy to get rid of the Redishades. Now all I have to do is decide what to put over the sliding door, faces front at the balcony, facing West (hot). I am not a fan of curtains but I think it's my only choice. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Window Coverings 36Aug 11, 2011 6:22 pm themax, hi i am just now thinking of putting in either plantation shutters or the wide slat venetians. had a check out of a supplier not too far from me today, but the woman there was less than helpful . i remember reading, here or somewhere, about a company that was highly recommended by a number of people but i have lost my bookmark the window is one that gets a bit of street grime so white is probably not a good choice......but then neither are the pale floors and the dog so i am looking for a reliable and not too costly supplier for that window and potentially some roller blinds in another room .... and some canvas on a west facing windows. many thanks for any recommendations from yourself or anyone else. i am in northern sydney Re: Window Coverings 37Aug 11, 2011 7:34 pm We decided on plantation shutters for the front first half of the house top and bottom. Then the back we have fairly open plan so always wanted to be able to see out and just went rollers. Here's how we set the rollers up. The sun shade one looks black but it's kind of a mocha/deep brown with a texture. We went inside/outside and spend most of the time with just the sunshade (or is this officially a blockout?).
