We really like them too. Fuzz Building the Oasis 27 in Mernda Re: Show me your kitchen... 2383Jul 24, 2013 3:04 pm Pretty kitchen. We've done handless on top and also a corthian RIM door (glass in middle) for scullery. Pantry just basic door though as its off to side Re: Show me your kitchen... 2384Jul 25, 2013 12:41 pm Well done YNWA. Your kitchen looks great. Quote: here are some pics as well as detailed description on what was done and the cost involved. I wish others would post up details like you have. Your post is probably one of the most informative on this forum. Stewie Re: Show me your kitchen... 2385Aug 11, 2013 3:12 pm hattie777 Our kitchen is just in the process of being installed. As a long time lurker of this page I thought I would finally share. There are some beautiful kitchens on here - hope ours can live up to them! Appliance tower: Pantry: Pleased with it all so far - looking forward to the caeserstone (wild rice) stone bench top going on next week. Just one query if anyone can put my mind at rest (while I'm waiting to hear from the builder). There is a gap between the cupboards and the bulkhead - my understanding is the point of a bulkhead is so there is no gap. I am a bit concerned. I know the kitchen is still a work in progress and the gap may be filled in, but does anyone more experienced than me have any ideas/comments as to why there is a gap? Thanks guys Just a quick thank you for posting your kitchen I could not figure out how to configure my selection of ovens and then i saw the way you did it and I'm sorry but I had to steal your idea Thank you Thank you Thank you You ended the great oven-gate of 2013. Thanks for giving me some great ideas. My problem at the moment is layout. Is there a thread on here for layout advice? We have a narrow block and we're tossing up between a 3.1m galley kitchen with a 2.3m island bench or a 3.1x3.0m L-shape with a 1.7m island bench and I was just wondering if the galley option is going to be too small? We prefer the galley option but we're just concerned the l-shape may be a better use of space So behind. So disappointed and annoyed. Ah you're welcome! Glad to be of help - I know how stressful planning a kitchen is! Re: Show me your kitchen... 2388Aug 13, 2013 10:11 am hattie777 Ah you're welcome! Glad to be of help - I know how stressful planning a kitchen is! Indeed it is Hattie. The bathrooms and the kitchens I am finding are the two most frustrating. The rest of the rooms are empty and I figure I can deal with them as they are built. It's mostly a lick of paint anyway. But the kitchen and bathrooms have fixtures that won't be easy to move and tiles you cant just paint over. So yeah you basically saved me hours of stress and arguments. My partner said just throw them in the butlers but the way i see it at the point my partner decided that as a chef we needed ovens that cost a weekly wage for the both of us EACH!!! those bad boys were going to be seen. We ended up putting the double oven in the middle and the steam/combi on one side and the microwave combi on the other all be it a little lower than yours as we are both fighting to be over 5ft 1 Decorate your home. Does your middle oven sit at the same height as your benchtop? I am having side by side ovens but only 2 and I've asked the bottom of the ovens to be at benchtop height. Just not sure if there is a standard height or what is best!! Thanks! Re: Show me your kitchen... 2390Aug 13, 2013 5:19 pm Kirstenl Question for you Hattie777. Just not sure if there is a standard height or what is best!! Thanks! Kristen our builder had us walk up to a bank of cabinets are pretend we were putting things in the ovens so they could put them at a height that was comfortable. Where they generally put them for us was too high because we are both tiny so the open door would be at chest level. You need to level them to where you are comfortable having them. I know they might look better up higher in our case but if i cant get things out or end up sloshing hot meat juices on my face what is the point. I suggest you look at your height and anyone else who might be using the kitchen regularly. Decorate your home. It gives the illusion that your life is more interesting than it really is. Oh and the splashback will be glass, but I have forgotten the exact colour - it's a lightish coffee coloured glass Re: Show me your kitchen... 2396Aug 14, 2013 10:01 pm These are the plans for my kitchen. I first saw a Grand Island Bench in a pre-built home I nearly purchased last year. The kitchen in that home was my inspiration for this design. I created this layout for the custom home I am building: It will have stone benchtops ( probably white ). Intent is for doors to be laminated with a coarse wood-grain look ( probably dark ). Floor tiles will actually be timber-look. Narrow window is more for natural light as it won't have much of an outlook. Nonna, I feel like I should bow down and say I am not worthy. I LOVE....no love is to weak a word, I covet, admire, am in awe of your pink back splash. I want to marry it and have its love child. Is your partner for sale or loan maybe. Mine is a woman and would cut her left foot off before she allowed me a pink back splash. I love pink to the point of distraction. The only thing that would make me love your kitchen more is if there was a glittery chandelier.....or glitter in general. Everything is better with glitter. Decorate your home. We actually will have a void above our kitchen area with a large modern chandelier above it.... Hubby quite enjoys a splash of colour. And is all for not being "normal". Considering I won't be moving from this house anytime in the next 10 years- I'm happy to have a hot pink splash back. Thanks for the love. <3 Nonna's Nest House set for completion November 2013 Re: Show me your kitchen... 2400Aug 20, 2013 10:54 am Oh yes, Nonna. I do love your splashback, except I think I would love mine to be bright YELLOW! I cannot wait until your kitchen starts getting made, I cant wait to see the pics!
