But some good news. We managed to get henley to reduce the price a bit based on their current promotion. So we are happy with that.. we are also expecting our drawings to be finalized next week and sent for approval and permits. Woooohoooooo. We managed to get henley to reduce the price a bit based on their current promotion..... Well done for asking for a reduction. The project builder will charge whatever you/I are willing to pay. We are at the end of 150 day period from the deposit date and have been warned that we need to sign to contract now to lock in pricing & promotions from the time of deposit - ah, no. Once the contract and all documentation is right and we are prepared to sign there will be a final price. We will either accept it, request a reduction or walk away. It's a simple situation - they need our business more than we need them. Good luck with the build. ----------------------------------------------- http://pab34newdigs.blogspot.com.au/ ----------------------------------------------- Re: Our New Build - Henley Monaco Nouveau Q1 7Aug 04, 2012 10:08 am In all honesty I wasn't going to ask for a discount because I didn't think they would offer it. But I just decided to send an email to the admin to advice of the situation telling them we are thinking of cancelling the contract if we can't get the discount. They had to take the cost of flooring off because its not part of the new promo but that's alright. Just shows that if you don't ask and demand you don't get. Will they be going anywhere else? You might want to balance out the look...? Re: Our New Build - Henley Monaco Nouveau Q1 9Aug 05, 2012 1:16 am Treeseachanger Hi Booshoo I think your colours look great In the bathroom you mentioned the travertine tiles will be around the bath. Will they be going anywhere else? You might want to balance out the look...? No they are not going anywhere else. We actually have a different feature tile on the back of the niche. Im worried about the feature tiles coz I don't know how they will turn out. But im hoping since the travertine is similar colour as the floor tile it would look like its coming up and the other tile is similar colour to the wall tile. But im not sure what else to with them. Coz the travertine would be too dark on a wall feature.. But I don't know. The colors are scaring me. We were exactly the same, our last house was all whites, this time we used lots of darker colours & I feel so much at home here than I ever did in our last place. Im so glad you guys think that coz its so stressful picking out colors she you don't know what it will look like. In sure you'll know that already. Now its just a matter of waiting for everything to be finished. The next few months are going to feel like years. And yes, getting colours right does your head in sometimes...all part of the joys and anxieties of the journey!! Re: Our New Build - Henley Monaco Nouveau Q1 13Aug 05, 2012 3:31 pm Lol. It was fun at first then it became a headache. Then it felt like this chore we had to do, specially when we disagreed on choices. But its all finished now and we just have to wait.. like doing an exam and waiting to see if you passed or not. Hahahaha. So we got the builder to reduce the cost to reduce our contribution towards the loan since our cashflow is limited. But now the mortgage broker says that if we tell the bank they will reduce the valuation, which has already been done. I dont know how they can do that or if that is even true. The issue is the discount the builder gave us is a PCV which means will just reduce our final payment not the contribution we have to pay at the start. Does anyone know what the correct process is? Our broker is starting to annoy me coz I dont know if she thinks i'm stupid and doesnt want to explain it to me or that she doesnt know what she's talking about. We literally look through ten's of displays and found one that we loved. Pretty much based all our colours of that. My husband and I tried to get a reduction or freebies out of Henley in June, after weeks of going back and forth they gave us.... NOTHING!!! We walked away from a $300K tender (we were going to build the Lexington Lux Q1). Love your floor plan, it's the new Barclay. We have friends who built that when we built. We've been in just over two years now after our build with Henley. Overall we had a pretty good experience Re: Our New Build - Henley Monaco Nouveau Q1 - I Need advice 18Aug 08, 2012 2:06 pm PolkaDots PAB_34 I hope you get your price reduction PAB_34. We walked away from a $300K tender (we were going to build the Lexington Lux Q1). Wow that's surprising... what stage were you at when you walked away?? I've found henley reasonably generous compared to what I've heard from about other builders. So im quite surprised. It was a little heartbreaking to walk away from our dream home but in the end we realised it was for the best.
