Hey mandv,

Yeah we're in Gregory hills in the Luke release.

Hey Agetator,

I've had two quotes for a dark colored driveway and paths down both sides with steps. Both came in at around $8000 for approx 87sqm of concrete.

ive been watching your house go up. Your building the milano 15m with the step. Were building a 16m but without the step down. We really wanted the step down but our land slopes towards the street and they said we could only get a step up (and that would be silly) Very nice colour choices with your house. What bricks did you end up picking?

Also the quote for the driveway, is that from MJH's people who do the driveways or another mob?

Oh wow - I've been off air for a little while and I think I have missed so much (15 pages worth)... I might have to take some time to look over what everyone is talking about at the moment.

Update from my end... we have chosen our colours and accepted our plans so we are now just waiting on our Contracts to be prepared.

I've updated my blog if anyone is interested in seeing the colours we have chosen!

Thanks, all the colour choices were my wife's responsibility:) I think they've come up good. The bricks are Austral Coutour georgette.

The driveway quotes weren't from MJH. I was stalking around Gregory Hills and got the cards from a couple of guys I saw doing driveways.

So I guess what I need to know is if I want to change all of the above how accommodating do you think they would be.

Sorry you had such a bad experience - we did our choices last Thursday - it was a little overwhelming in the beginning especially because the bricks we wanted were discontinued but once we started going through everything seemed to fall into place - our designer offered some suggestions which we listened too but I think in the end she said go with your first choice as it is often the best!! We have made a couple of changes since then and have added a couple of things and taken off a few things - we just emailed the changes to our designer and she amended the colour selections usually in a couple of hours, we have now settled on our decisions!! I would try and email your designer first and explain your concerns and see what other options they come up with, I'm sure they will be able to make any of the changes you want to make without any hassle!

It is a very nice brick colour, never saw it there when we were looking for bricks. Your missus did well :)

So it has been a while since I posted last but I have been watching everyones progress with envy :D

We made the decision and are building with MJH. Mastertons initil tender came in 120k over the base price, so only God know what I would have ended up paying once I added on upgrades & electrical etc.

I am waiting for my deposit variation to come back with the extended garage.

Is it just me also that is constantly churning over ideas, options, colours, prices constantly in my head...I swear im going crazy ::wornout::

Now to pick all of your brains if I may:
How much would you estimate for plantation shutters to entire house? We have 16 windows in total.
What are you using to dress triple stacker doors?
Has anyone taken the option to silicone seal around tiling to skirts instead of grout? How much is this approx?

We have a pre-colour walk through booked for 1/08...cant wait. Even though im going crazy I am still loving every minute of bulidng our home.

By the way for those who are nearly at handover Apollo Blinds have a sale on plantation shutters at the moment...50% off every 2nd blind.

We're having plantation shutters in only the 2 front windows and it's $1000 per window.

Our triple stacker door were having 5 panel glide blinds, and on our sliding door were having 3.

Hope that helps!

Were up to tiling! Our tiler was there today getting started - cant wait to see how it's looking tomorrow :)

Hi all,
Does anyone take up the alarm system option with MJH? I'm wondering what brand we get with the $925 one?

Thanks.

we will be doing plantation shutters to the front of the house also, and roller blinds to all the stacker doors and rest of the house most likely.

We were also thinking of just doing the Plantation shutters to the front of the house and roller blinds for everything else!! I had a friend who found some blinds which apparently look like plantation shutters but are not and she was able to do her whole house for something like $2500 (she got them from accent carpets castle hill)... I haven't seen them but that could be an option to look at for the areas which are not really on show as well if you didn't like roller blinds but can't afford plantation shutters to the whole house!
