Awaiting site works.

Hehe sorry started this thread when I only had a few spare mins.
Building in Butler, will try to upload a plan when I figure out how.
If anyone has built with Goodlife please share your upgrades and costings!
I have MANY upgrades to make.
Right now going to try and get external quotes for stone benches in the kitchen.

Hi, we are building with Goodlife too. We are not far off putting our plans to the council hopefully. We are building in St Leonard's Estate.

I'm loving my Goodlife experience so far, my sales rep is a darling, so patient and hardworking.
I really hope the build will start quickly, it's so expensive to rent at the same time!
Land settles in 20 days, very excited about that. I feel like it's all been a fantasy, and now it's actually really happening. When I started enquiring about packages, I thought it was for future knowledge, like in 5 years or something!
I'm supposed to have my colour meeting in a fortnight and keep on thinking of new things to upgrade!
Is it worth upgrading internal doors? Cornices?
I'm debating about stone for kitchen benchtops, with waterfall edges, have a feeling it'll cost aroound $7000. I suppose that's a bit extravagant.
Anyone have any tips on shower head placement? My last two rentals had it too low.

I'm really loving Goodling so far too .... (Knock on wood)
Personally when i found out upgradin cornices was going to be $1000 + I got over them very quickly ... We only upgraded the internal doors that you would see from the entrance and main living so bed 1(double) study and theatre (double) - forgot about the pantry ... Oh well... This was a compromise because my OH didnt want to "waste money on upgrading doors" and doors were quite a big thing for me ... So we just did half the house ... Wish they could all be done ... And hope it doesn't look too silly ...

I am so looking forward to my stone benchtops tho ... Something I would definitely consider if u can

Have you figured out how to upload pictures yet ?? I want to see ur plan ... I'll upload mine soon

How did you do it melq????

I used googleearth to see my site, it's a big block of flat sand and there's just dunes opposite! Hopefully there is more development happening, empty undeveloped spaces really creep me out.
Will go and see it for real next week I think, my sales rep will take me as there isn't a proper road and I have no idea how to get to it.
Settlement is in 2 weeks!
I've decided that fancy cornices and skirting boards are a bit too expensive, plus, don't you then have to also upgrade doorframes to match?

I love the look of kitchens with wood cabinets and black benchtops.. our cabinets won't be woodgrain so will that colour scheme look silly?

melq your ensuite and WIR are HUGE !! You have everything! What's your house area?
Ours has all same rooms, but laid out in a perfect rectangle.
I really want to upgrade all internal doors too. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to upgrade everything. If you guys had the money sitting there, would you have done all the internal doors, or was it just that your partner thought it wasn't worthwhile?

Nice layout to your floorplans. Bedroom 4 right next to the home theatre might have a few sleepless nights. Perhaps you can reconfigure activities area and bed 4 as they seem to be similar in size. Ensuite is massive.

the kitchen seems a tad small considering a 4 bedroom house. I think you'll be wishing for more bench space.

it would be ok amgsl55 if they sound proof that wall. It would have to be done otherwise it could effect resale value

sound proofing the wall might not be enough - ceiling space as well. Then you need to consider the subwoofer

Yeah we wanted the house we would live in for a long time so we did splash out a little with things like ensuite and WIR ... But with goodlife we could afford to ... I still can't get over how reasonable they're prices are ...

Yes I would definitely upgrade all the internal doors if we had more money to spend ... But I would also get stone benches throughout and probably upgrade basins ... LoL that's all
Have you done prestart yet turtle ??

Huge ensuite! I'd consider upgrading to a cavity slider on the pantry enabling you to extend the island bench, I think you're going to want more room in that kitchen.

That cavity slider is a good idea... We did try to extend the bench and they said because of the door it couldnt be done ... I wish they would have given me some alternatives Like that... But we've signed our contracts now ....

I really regret not getting recessed ceilings in our living area and theatre, just never thought of it till later! Also should have increased garage height I think. Just looks better from the front and also helpful if we ever get a 4wd.
I've gotta hurry up and read and sign my settlement docs. Just so sick of paperwork I keep procrastinating!

Recessed ceilings or high ceilings ? I really wish we got higher ceiling in garage Nd made it wider ... We've only got an SUV but still think its going to be a squeeze with 2 cars ...there's quite a few things now that I wish we did ... Like trying to work out how to get more bench space in the kitchen ... Oh well ... I suppose it just means I won't be able to cook as much ... I'm so sad :P

You can just get make the bench thicker if you know what I mean? Or add a breakfast bar!
I mean how the center of the ceiling is higher in main rooms, looks so nice.
Colour meeting tomorrow, nervous about getting there on time and with a clear head with two kids!
