About two weeks ago I picked out the simonds home and signed the paperwork, I have dropped the land contract off as well. Now I am anxious to go to the gallery as I want to get the contract drawn up to be signed prior to end of June for the fhog.
My sales consultant tells me that it will all be ready by then and they have a duty of care to get it moving but I am still anxious about missing out. The start of next month is when the state government releases the new budget so I will be able to see if there will even be a fhog in the next financial year.

Caz76, We are in the same situation. We signed up with our builder in February and were told we would have the contracts in 8-10 weeks. This timeframe took us to last week and so we followed up with our Sales Consultant who informed us the contract was delayed and we will be waiting until atleast the end of May as an estimate. Our consultant has assured us we will have the contracts in time to sign before 30 June but she also assured us we would have the contracts in 8-10 weeks so we dont have a whole lot of trust in her anymore. We are also really concerned we could miss out on the FHOG if these contracts are not done in time to the point we are considering pulling out and finding another builder who can do the contracts sooner, though I dont know if that is even possible at this late stage. I guess we really just have to cross our fingers now and hope the FHOG isnt cut back.
So anyways while I cant give any actual advice I definently do feel your frustration and worry

It was just over a month to get to do our colours but we are using a different builder (Dennis) who are known for being a bit slower than most builders. I had to do our selections within the first month due to work commitments and getting time off and since I didnt hear anything about our colour selections for a few weeks I just called their head office and asked when colours would be. Within 10 minutes the colour selections lady called me back to arrange a time. Is it possible for you to call someone at Simonds to arrange a colour appointment?
How long did they tell you your contracts would take to be ready?
If you have a look at the Woodlands Edge, Wallan thread on here there are a few that I know of who are building with Simonds, maybe pop on and ask them how long their contracts took
