Hi NEWLYWEDS,

We have a range called Allure Garage !

It's purpose made for garages and can handle all the water and oil spills etc that occur in a garage. It floats over the concrete and can go straight over the expansion gaps in the concrete. It comes in around 30 or so colours including steel, stones and woods.

How much would it cost to buy enough "paint" to cover a 6 x 6 m garage?

Hi Casa2,

The Allure Garage heavy duty PVC floor is not a paint, it's a grip strip PVC plank floor that's around 4mm thick. For an area like that, you'd be looking at $2,368, which allows for wastage. It's a proper floor though, allowing for dual usage of the garage.
It cannot be compared to painting a floor. Very popular in the United States and growing in popularity in Australia.

Best wishes.

Hi DestinationTranmere,

Allure Garage was priced at $69m2, however it has recently been reduced to $59m2. It comes in packs of 2.23m2 per pack and generally we suggest a wastage factor of around 7%. In saying that, you may use less or more depending on the shape of the room, cutting around fixtures and also how many mistakes you make (it's really easy so hopefully not many).

If you'd like to look at it, it's in Hobart at the Hobart city store (ask for Steve) and also at Cambridge (ask for Peter).

Thanks for your question.

If you were going to use Allure in your Garage, you could also look at Freefit or Laneway vinyl Planks.

Freefit is a 4mm looselay plank & tile with 0.5mm wear layer & Laneway is a 5mm plank & tile with 0.7mm wear layer.

You would need to compare them all together, but I would assume they are all of similar product except the Allure might be click or taped joins.

The HN Flooring Team might be able to clarify the Installation method of Allure better, as we only use the Freefit & Laneway.

I think Allure is an Armstrong Product, so it should be a reasonable product.

Hi Harvey Norman,
How much does it cost for Allure Garage ?
Does it come with warranty ?

How about laminating the floor?

If you look at HN previous post, they stated Allure Garage was priced at $69m2, however it has recently been reduced to $59m2.

You should be able to obtain Freefit & Laneway for similar money in the city.

Hi gizmoe,

Allure Garage is a grip strip and is a floating floor, as all the Allure range is (except the click version known as Lock).

It is made by Vertex and the Armstrong product, marketed mosty by Carpet Choice is totally different.

Floor prep wise, Allure has the same requirements as any other floating floor, so around 3mm variation in subfloor over 1 mtr is acceptable. It can go straight over expansion joints in concrete and reasonable grout lines.

How many attempts do you get with the grip strip if it is not installed nice & tight & you want to remove it off the grip strip & have several attempts?

What if you get some small amount of contamination from dust & dirt on the grip strip?

Will the grip strip have enough adhesive bond to be able to survive reasonable variations in temperature?
For example in my area it gets down to 0C in Winter & upto 40C in Summer.

Thanks, gizmoe & HN flooring team.

Will definitely check all those options! ::smile::

Hi all
I have read this thread with interest we have an exposed concrete "mud room" which we are wanting to improve. The area is approx 65m2.
A couple of questions I have.
We are having the builders tilers painters and timber floor guy etc in for a major renovation so which trade would you recommend we have to apply an epoxy to the floor?
We also have approx 15m2 of unsealed slate tiles which have been laid by previous owners. What would be the best way to seal these, is an epoxy appropriate for this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Painters if they know what they are doing.
Ask them how they would prep it?
Ask them to do a moisture test, if they look at you funny then maybe find someone who does epoxy for a living & knows how to do a moisture test & has the equipment.
Do a moisture test to make sure the concrete is sweet, grind the floor clean & then apply the epoxy.

For those of you doing your driveway with coloured through concrete would recommend the following as advised by our concrete man.

Buy a tin of sealer and a tin of colour tint the same as the driveway and mix them together. Give it a good hose out the day before to remove any dust.

We did two coats and hardly a mark after six months, cost us $180 and there is enough left in the tin to do it again when required.
