Yes, we ARE all special Thanks for the backup on that one, I will be able to tell DH I am not the only one who stands in a doorway and stares into space imagining light fittings and furniture. I walk back and forth between the minor bedrooms trying to decide which will be the little man's room, guest room etc.

::kiss:: I love it all Jess, it looks just perfect nestled in there will all your trees & beautiful surroundings. It looks so cosy & inviting & it really does blend in well
I am massively jealous of your fireplace, I really wanted one but our budget was already through the roof DH is a qualified gas fitter, I might convince him to install a gas one down the track
Seems stupid that you can't have a bin on site!? I've never heard of that! I guess a cage is better than nothing & it will hopefully prevent it from spreading around.
I agree with Kiwi & McLaren, we are all "special" it is soooo exciting once the walls go up & you can actually walk around your new home, imagining where furniture etc is going to be or better yet, imagining you & your family all in there. Building is stressful but also exciting so be sure to enjoy the process! I was very special during our build, every night once the kids were asleep I would wander through the new house, I reckon I'd spend 1/2hr a night in there! bad I know....
Thanks Broom, nice to see you back! So glad you are loving your place, looks amazing. I think you should definitely look into the gas fire, man they are pricey!! I know what you mean about budget, it all adds up so quickly and before you know it you have spent thousands. But you have beautiful luxury finishes in your home, so well worth blowing the budget IMHO.
Re the rubbish, I think it is not a case of being allowed to have a skip, but them being too tight to foot the bill
Kiwi, that is dedicated, 3 visits a day!! We have been known to do that on the weekends, but usually because we are hauling trailer loads of cow poo to try and enrich our soil. 2.5 acres of terrible soil is gonna take a lot of enriching I make DH shovel poo while I have "special" time in my house.
We had some friends walk through while we weren't there over the weekend, and when I got the text telling me how wonderful it looks and how jealous they are, I was just a bit smug Is that bad??

Sorry guys!! I haven't updated for so long, have been having a rough time health wise, but getting back on track now. I have been reading most days, but not posting. Also DH's grandfa passed away on Sunday after a long battle with cancer so we have been busy helping out with that where we can. This last month has been one I would love to forget all about! Looking forward to happy days being here again. Oh and laptop is on the blink so I haven't had any way of uploading decent pics. On the house front, lots has been happening. We paid our fit out invoice yesterday, kitchen should be in either today or tomorrow!! Tiler has started in the wet areas, floors and some wall tiling had been done as of yesterday. Also the main floor area has been ground down ready for levelling compound for our porcelain tiles.
DH was out there today talking to the tiler, we want him to tile to ceiling in the ensuite shower and put some feature tiles in our niche. I haven't seen him yet to get the update as to what was said but hopefully he is on board with it. I can't wait for all the cabinetry to go in, looking forward to the fudgestream vanity in the main bathroom especially, and of course the kitchen!! I think I have some photos on my camera, will try and upload tonight. I will go out tomorrow and get some pics of tiling etc. We have had so much rain here, so outside concreting is still not done- driveway, porch and alfresco. They still haven't connected up downpipes either, which should have been done before we paid the invoice, so our beautiful bricks are splashed with orange clay We can't wait for it to be all done with to be honest, feeling a bit over it all!! Probably cause we know how much work we have ahead of us once we get the keys- so much landscaping!!!

So sorry to hear your sad news, but glad to hear your starting to feeling better? It sounds like a lot has been happening and it won't be long before you are living in your beautiful house and doing you garden up mmmmmmmmm you have actually made me imagine the amount of sand that will be brought into the house when we all first move in Even to put rolled on lawn needs a fair bit of prep
Hi Jess, nice to see you pop up again! Same as all, wish you the best, health wise. Lost my sister a few months back so feel for you there also. Building takes patience that's for sure. Was so positive at the start but like you getting a little over waiting. Cabinets soon for me too, cannot wait for that. Landscaping, yeah acreage to landscape for me too. Thats definately going to be a LONG term project! Looking forward to pics when you can.
Hi Jess, nice to hear from you - wondered where you had got to. Condolences on your loss and hope you are feeling better now .... sounds like there will be lots to see when you do find some time to upload pics. Take care ...

Thanks everyone for the well wishes xx
Still haven't got pics loaded, busy with funeral plans and the like. Granfa has had his cat in the nursing home with him for companionship, it turns out Jo Jo has cancer too, so we are having him put down today so they can be put to rest together. DH has built a lovely wooden box for him to match the coffin. It's going to be a very sad day
I should be able to get some photos Saturday after all the family leave. Our kitchen is still not in, either are our vanities or laundry cabinets.
Looking forward to your painting pics Eiffel, as we are having Flokati too!
