I'm deciding on a colour for my benchtop and I'm leaning towards Caesarstone Urban - which is a mid tone grey colour:
http://www.caesarstone.com.au/Colours/Colour-Detail.aspx?Collection=2040-Urban%E2%84%A2

Just want some feedback from people who have used this colour. I'm renovating a kitchen in which EVERYTHING was cream, so as much as I love the look of the all white kitchens I see on this forum, I'm too timid to have another kitchen without any contrasting colours!! :|

I'm going with white gloss, vinyl wrap cabinets, potentially Caesarstone Urban bench, probably a fairly neutral/browns glass splashback (perhaps Dulux Spiced Nutmeg or Puppy) and the floors will be bamboo in a mixture of dark blond to coffee coloured boards. Still tinkering with the possibility of a more white benchtop..... :th:

If anyone can tell me how to upload images here, I can post some picture which will make this process much easier!!

Thanks everyone!

Hi

I can't help you yet, but your kitchen sounds very similar to ours, which won't be in until late January.

We have chosen Urban Caesarstone, gloss white cabinets with a brushed aluminum handle along the top/bottom of the doors. Our floors are nutmeg bamboo, but our splashback is Zenolite Grange (a deep red).

We liked the concrete-like tone of urban and the way it contrasted with the stark white of the cupboards.

I'll post some pictures when I can.

Paul

Oh, and to upload pictures, use a site like photobucket and then put a link in your post using the img tag. M

Paul, thanks for your comments - your kitchen sounds like it's gonna be awesome - so I hope mine will be awesome too! Now that you've told me how to upload photos I can show you a pic of my horrid cream-on-cream kitchen, which is, fortunately, half ripped out now and very near its final death!

So you can see why I'm getting rid of it....a wall has come down as well so it's going to be considerably larger.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Caesarstone Urban:

And I also quite like Carbon by Essa Stone:

I'd love to hear everyone's suggestions for splashback colours to go with either of these benchtop colours. I did think of going with red (as Paul is) which would look very cool - but I don't want to tie myself down to a particular palette for other features in the space, which is why I'm thinking of something earthy and neutral.

If you do a search of the forum, there are a few people who have used it. From memory I think Sleven used it. It's a great colour :D

Hi I used Urban as my kitchen bench top and love it. I also have white cabinets (mine were already in the house). We just did a mini facelift and went with Urban. It goes really nice with all the stainless appliances. I have also a touch of red accesories in there.

Here is a photo of our kitchen with urban Caesarstone. We are still waiting for the splashback - this is just a sample piece.

That looks great, you must be very happy with it. What shade of red did you go for the splashback?

It is a Zenolite colour called Grange, unfortunately between picking the colour and then going to order it months later we found out that it had been deleted. Fortunately I was able to find a company that produces acrylic splashbacks in any colour you want, and they can give me a very close match to Grange. It should arrive next week sometime and then I can post some more photos.

Just a quick update - the final splashback and a photo taken with a camera instead of a phone
