Looking to build RBV walls and looking at the difference between using concrete block or hebel panels.

From what I can read the main difference is hebel has more R value but less thermal mass , but the difference is
hard to quantify. Both of them would probably have a plasterboard skin on the interior . (with the block we might leave some walls exposed block)

In a predominantly heating climate which would be better. We have good orientation and glazing and a concrete slab

Anyone had experience with hebel panels ?

the Hebel panels appeal from a cost and speed of installation point of view along with the higher claimed R rating and acoustic properties. Can be installed by the builder/carpenter also -
so one less trade to deal with.

If you use gyprock over any RBV wall it will not perform all that well. It will need to be plastered for it to be effective or as you said left exposed. The gyprock will act as a insulator.

Im doing a fully exposed solid limestone wall for internal mass in the house I'm about to build. Maybe you could consider doing the same sort of thing with a normal brick veneer house.

I was going to go full RBV but the cost of plastering was just to much to justify for me.

Yeah , I have a rammed earth wall in the living room as well as a concrete slab , so probably have enough thermal mass anyway - starting to sound like I'll probably use the hebel
panels as the outside skin and render or conceret bag them

If I was doing reverse brick veneer I would put a feature wall of stone or brick in. As stated putting gyprock on the wall will lose some of the properties you seek by RBV
