Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 03, 2011 2:30 pm Hi Our block slopes up toward the back - very even all the way up. We want to do an Undercroft type design. Double Garage/ study/ stairs/ storeroom on the bottom. All living area on the top. Anyone know of any design ideas/ hints / tips ??? We need a 4* 2 1/2 (powder room). Open plan living / dining. Games room. The back needs an exit straight out to the existing pool, where the loo / bathroom is close by for wet people and towels etc. Anyone done this or blogged about it. My searches aren't turning up much. Any help would be fantastic. Cheers Re: Sloping Block... Undercroft design? Anyone done one/seen 2Jun 03, 2011 2:42 pm Hi Perthgirl We didn't end up building this - it was a cost and other factor issue - but I still love it Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Is that what you mean when you say undercroft? Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Sloping Block... Undercroft design? Anyone done one/seen 3Jun 03, 2011 2:54 pm Yes - it's very similar to what we were shown last night by a builder who were're looking at - he did some ideas on what might work but a few things aren't sitting right with me. Your design look like it is stretched sideways and is not too deep. Ours is quite deep (at the top floor) but 17 m accross. The undercroft has study where your lounge is and garage in the same spot - double entry doors (in the middle) and a store room at the back, by the stairs. The Master bedroom looks like it is coming off the living area - our design does to and that dosen't sit well with me. Hubby thinks it's OK but I don't really want to share our bedroom wall with the Lounge room where ppl will be watching TV! The block is 20 m wide and 40 m deep. Slopes up toward the back, maybe 2 . 5 - 3 m over the whole block. Design for sloping blocks must be very hard to find here in Oz. Google is taking me to some USA sites and some english ones - even then not much seems to be out there. Re: Sloping Block... Undercroft design? Anyone done one/seen 4Jun 03, 2011 2:58 pm Hi again, Can't remember the width of this design but we have a 20m wide block also. The Master is coming off the Multi purpose room (aka kids play room) I'll see if I can find a better image of the plan for you as that one is a bit *. Hang on! Oh yes, very hard to find designs Let me think about some other builders - although I'm in Sydney which isn't going to help you, but at least might give you ideas Still not in. Don't ask!?
