Hi, am new here, just bought a block of land facing north.

Theres a storm drain on northeast of block (if youre facing from house).

Water will drain into this inlet, then travel straight to house across the st, which has also a storm drain.

Is this bad feng shui? Is my block not good?

as long as the drain is NOT "gushing" straight at your house - no problems.

as in a gun pointing at your face.

ok, basically the way its designed, if there's flooding, water will flow from left side of the street (if im facing the street from my house)

then drop to the inlet northeast of my house, then travel straight underneath across the street, so effectively water will flow towards my neighbor (across the street)..

the drain in front of me is an inlet for houses on my side of the street...thus exit point...

i wonder whats the effect on feng shui...

so i take it that - north-east is actually the right side of your house?
water comes from the left, flows across your front to the right side of the house?

Left is the dragon side, dragon needs water. water strengthens the dragon. YANG.

generally ancient chinese loves houses that has a river/stream on the left side of their house, flowing from the rear towards the front of the house. Then a mountain behind the house, green pasture(empty greens) in front. some shrubs/woods/trees at the right. the perfect balanced house.

nothing wrong with your plot of land with regards to storm drain. It doesnt have water all the time so the effects(good or bad) is very mild from that of a river/stream.

thanks, yes the drain is at the front of house (northeast), driveway will be on left side as council wont allow it on right side...

since most of the time there isnt water, then i say not much effect really, its just a sore in the eye if youre looking in the house and theres a long drain at the front...

better put up a nice garden in front to counter it...

and of course future resale is a bit affected as some people dont like drain in front of house...

always emphasis on the good points.....

or line up the frontage with a row of flowers?
