Re: CARPET - Smartstrand IQ150 Textures & Level Cut Loops 7Sep 16, 2010 2:01 pm Any chance you can link me to the colour names for the Twist? We got measured up last night and want a brown colour, but have been told all is out of stock and it can be a twelve week wait. With a baby arriving in 6 weeks, we really don't have that sort of time. Re: CARPET - Smartstrand IQ150 Textures & Level Cut Loops 9Sep 16, 2010 6:25 pm Poidda Any chance you can link me to the colour names for the Twist? We got measured up last night and want a brown colour, but have been told all is out of stock and it can be a twelve week wait. With a baby arriving in 6 weeks, we really don't have that sort of time. The stock situation is changing all the time. Are you dealing with the local Franchisee ? If not, you should. They can sort out what you need to know quicker and sort it put for you. (if I tell you this or that is in stock now, it's redundant info 5 minutes later as it may have sold). What store are you dealing with ? Re: CARPET - Smartstrand IQ150 Textures & Level Cut Loops 10Sep 16, 2010 6:29 pm handmick how much are you looking per lineal metre for this stuff...I'm over the other side of Melbourne...can I see this carpet at any Hardly Normal store? The RRP is $49 m2, carpet only for the regular stock range. With others being all different prices (there is dozens to choose from). Yes, you can look at it at Corio store or Watergardens. They would be your 2 closest. Re: CARPET - Smartstrand IQ150 Textures & Level Cut Loops 11Sep 16, 2010 6:30 pm
The industry has probably "over sold" SDN to the public.
Anthony, do you not see it's a pattern/cycle? Everyone was getting oversold on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th gen nylon, each one 'correcting' the failures of it's predecessor and people continually sick of it's problems, and wallah!! out comes SDN... now this my friends is the best thing since (wholemeal) sliced bread!! Fast forward to today, and everyone is over the SDN over-hype and wallah!! along comes SmartStand/EcoStand products... and the cycle starts again. Somehow, most people forget that the claims of todays product were also made of the last product, but they didn't hold up. In another 5-8 years, when people are over SS/ES hype and it's (heaven forbid!!) not living up to it's over-hyped sales pitches, the R&D people will have yet another product to divert people away from the (then apparent) failings and short comings of today's wonder product. One of the biggest problems are the ambitious warranties, and often not fully informed sales teams. I've spoken with a lot of sales staff and some clearly don't have a clue about their products, they only know which products have the biggest margins this month. Ok, not fair as a generalised comment, but it does happen. When these products started to hit the market in NZ, I spoke directly to a knowledgeable sales person that I respect highly and asked about it. It took him weeks to get the correct info out of the States to answer my question relating to the corn husk claim. No one in that national organisation knew the answers to my questions. Hey I was wanting to learn too, and I'm not even selling the product, but when I start to get claims coming in for it, I want to have already done my research if possible. Can you answer me a few simple questions? Have you personally read the warranty conditions? Is the maintenance of the product tied into the warranty? If so, do they specify a certain group/product/association/equipment/method is said maintenance? Again, if so, is the criteria easily met in ANY given location where the product is sold? I've asked for a copy of the EcoStrand/SmartStrand warranty and no one has been forth coming with it unfortunately. I ask because there's been a lot of controvesy over this very issue in the States and I'm keen to see where we stand down under on warranty claims. Who in NZ is importing Smartstrand ? We have sold around 70,000 metres without any major dramas so far. In Australia, warranties on products MUST be carried by the retailer. It's not good enough to handball the manufacturer. So HN warrant the product here, and then in the event of a claim, claim on the mill later. Customer service and meeting your obligations is important. Re: CARPET - Smartstrand IQ150 Textures & Level Cut Loops 13Sep 16, 2010 6:55 pm Carpet Court and The Floor Store sell it under it's EcoStrand brand in NZ. I've not seen it sold under the SmartStrand brand. I'd love a copy of the warranty if you can email me thanks. www.carpetservices.co.nz will give you my details. Re: CARPET - Smartstrand IQ150 Textures & Level Cut Loops 14Sep 17, 2010 3:37 pm Hi Anthony, I am looking at smartstrand for my house (kids bedrooms and the stairs) and am looking everywhere for details about the different ranges. We are trying to decide between the "smart color" and "brilliant designs" and the normal iq 150 range. We were at HN this morning but they just gave us vague answers. Can you tell me what the pile height and density is of those and the main iq range? I probably have my terms all wrong, sorry! Just wondering if the smart colour felt better then the iq because it was newer - as the price difference is so small. The specs have to obtained by the franchisee from the manufacturer. The franchisee of the store can get that info easily for you, via a request to Mohawk. I have got the info for many customers of mine. You are after the "weight" of the carpet. It's measured in ounces. Generally the more the better!! Re: CARPET - Smartstrand IQ150 Textures & Level Cut Loops 16Sep 17, 2010 8:06 pm weight - that is good to know We went to the Preston store. How long does it take to get the info? We are on a tight timeline to get it ordered and in by Christmas (fingers crossed, we are taking a punt!) Re: CARPET - Smartstrand IQ150 Textures & Level Cut Loops 17Sep 17, 2010 9:51 pm No worries. It is pretty quick. Ask for Maurice. He is the franchisee. Any dramas, give me a call at Chadstone and I'll sort you out no probs. They have not published all the data to us. It's available, but only every 200th customer would ask weights, and even when you find out the weight, it doesn't mean much to a non-industry person, so over time, all manufacturers have ceased talking ounces and talk about warranties and other features and benefits instead. As I say, any dramas, just call me at Chadstone. Although Maurice is a great bloke and I'm sure he can sort it all out for you ASAP. they can, it's a fairly standard solution when the slab isn't recessed. the falls need to be in the main floor, if it hasn't been done then you need to ask them to redo… 4 6794 PM me your email. I have a build excavation calculator you can use based on your plans to double check what your builder is telling you.
