Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 25, 2010 9:13 pm I have been lurking for alittle while and have made the odd post but i thought it would be time to show you all what we are doing and what decisions we have made so far. We came across this estate about a yrs ago but our house wasnt ready to sell, 12 months later We were lucky to be in a the right financial position when this peice of land became for sale. I wont say its our dream piece of land cause that is about 20 acres but 5 acres is certainly in the right direction of getting our dream land. The house nor is our dream house, but its a stepping stone. we are very excited and can see ourselves living here for atleast 5 yrs. We have decide to build the lakeview lodge with Beechwood homes Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ ignore the window shutters This is our site plan Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I would love to be able to show you our plans but there being drawn up at the moment, so i can show you the brochure layout - we havent chanegd it that much. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Changes are : # swapping the games room and garage so the garage is at the back of the house with roller door at the back, so when hubby is working in the garage he can watch the kids in the backyard or enjoy the view. # large alfresco off the rumpus stacker doors. # double shower in ensuite # double doors to master bedroom # double doors to lounge/dining room (this will be the kids toy room and IF we have another child we # will half this room to make a toy room and study so each child has there own room) # delete opening to lounge room off foyer. # double entry doors. # bring the dining/loune room wall closer by about 30cm to make the family room alittle larger # next to the laundry internal door will be another linen press # Meals sliding doors will be a window # The Games room will be our theatre room # Ducted inverter air conditioning. # seperate toilet in main bathroom So this is what we have chosen so far Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Wakehurst by Austral with off white morter Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ traditional Sanctury by Bristile Guttering will be windspray fascia will be surfist Windows will be matt stone beige (i think - any suggestions??) The tiles in the bathrooms/laundry we are thinking of a black marble effect floor tile with white wall tiles (to 1.8m high right around) with a mosiac feature strip consisting of black, metalic dark blues and greys. Has anyone seen a bathroom like this? what do you think? Large ceremic floor tiles in the foyer down the hallway and the kitchen/family/meals in a light beigy colour and the rest of the house in a carpet - light beige I would love some feedback Thanks Building in the Hunter Valley - 5 glorious acres. In our Ensuite we actually ran the black tiles up the walls as well- I loved that room! Don't you just love paint colour names.. Re: Our journey to acreage living. 14May 07, 2010 9:17 pm We are just having second thoughts about the guttering/fascia colour As you can see from my 1st post we are going with the sanctuary roof tile, we want the guttering to be the same colour so it blends in, do you think coloubond windspay is the right colour for this? We have chosen smurfist for the fascia, however we are starting to think maybe a classic cream cause the only standard options we have for the window/door frames is Pearl White Primrose Bond off white Matt stone beige and ultra black. Can someone please clarify that primrose is cream? If we stayed with the smurfist fascia what colour frames should we have? would cream look ok if bond off white? Decisions decisions decisions....
