Hi all,
This is really a question for anyone that has already moved in and had their driveway done.
We have had a quote for an exposed aggregate driveway and I advised the concreter about the requirement for a PVC pipe to be laid underneath for the irrigation system as per the land contract.
The concreter has quoted for using a 19mm pipe.
When I went over the land contract again, the requirement is for a 90mm PVC pipe.
I asked the concreter about this and he has advised that he cannot supply the 90mm pipe, as it means that an excavation is required to ensure that the driveway will not crack and lift. He cannot do this as he does not have access to the equipment required.
So we would have to hire an excavator to do this work prior to the concreter laying the driveway.
My question is what other people have done, as he has already laid a few driveways in the estate and had not heard of this issue, so I am presuming that the other people have just installed a 19mm pipe?
I dont want to go with the 19mm and then have issues when they come to do the garden.
I also dont want to go to the extra cost of excavation if I really dont have to.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
