My advice with under floor heating is always use a TWIN core cable Re: underfloor heating no good? 9Jul 06, 2010 10:47 pm most underfloor heating [in slab] is off peak so you should be asleep when its on & there will be no fields under your feet ,also is not reccomended for bedrooms as youll be too warm & not sleep ,ours is not yet switched on but they say just having it in our living area ,hallway & bathroom is enough to heat the whole house & we wont need any other heating ,warm 24 hrs a day Re: underfloor heating no good? 10Jul 21, 2010 5:29 pm Hi I have been involved in feng shui and building for a long time. In feng shui terms there is no particular good or bad for floor heating, it is probably more practical and health related. From my consultations and research I found that any electromagnetic field ( floor heat being one example) can affect some people when they spend a lot of time in that field. ( just one example from experience - my daughter slept in a room adjacent to the kitchen and refrigerator - she got constant colds/ flu until we moved her bed away from the common wall) It tends to weaken the immune system for some people. so I would not encourage the use of floor heating in a bedroom or office where you spend a lot of time - In a bathroom it is great when set up with a timer. other rooms will depend on how you use them. best thing to do with electromagnetic fields from fridges, switch boards, motors or floor heat is to not sleep near them or spend too much time close by. if you always get colds/ flu check out if that is the case. It will affect some people and not others Re: underfloor heating no good? 11Oct 21, 2012 1:09 pm I am one of those people who suffer from electro magnetic energy thingys so would not advise under floor heating, insulation yes, especially in cold areas. Good air flow under the floor helps to keep away damp and mould but we have enormous electic magnetic fields in our homes as it is, why add more? From my point of view, clean flooring and the odd cosy rug, a warm fire is simply delightful. 1 10495 Does anyone have a suggestion for a good hydronic in slab heating speacialist who may be able to help me with an existing system and wether or not it may need a seperator… 0 5516 Hi All, Our current 16 year old ducted gas heating is broken and needs an urgent replacement and appreciate any advise from the industry experts to make a decision for… 0 3989 |
