Our house will be Built in Vertu estate in Harrisdale next year (titles are Due in early 2010). Don Russell is our builder, and our home is a modified version of "the Genesis".

Would love to hear people's insight into the house, thoughts, suggestions etc. etc.

We will be getting granite benchtops in the Kitchen, still undecided on which type. laminex benchtops in bathrooms and laundry.

It's not all that big, the house itself is 220m^2. 280m^2 including garage, alfresco and porch.

We've pretty much used as much of our land as we are allowed to though, so very little room left elsewhere...

There seems to be a fair few people in harrisdale that are building

+1 for Harrisdale, building in Heron Park - only a matter of a few weeks till we get to take possession!

I like your selections, the 'Burnished Wood' comes up a treat on cupboard doors.

+1 - I'm in Harrisdale too and even closer to you miss_petepie! I'm also in Arion Having some front door issues with my build though - very depressing. Hope everyone else is getting a good build though!

Thanks. We spent so much time on our selections so we're really anxious to see what they end up looking like! We're a little concerned that the Kitchen may look too dark. We are getting black floor tiles, black splashback and burnished wood cupboards... But our benchtops themselves will be white/light gray...

hopefully it won't be too bad!

Your house plan looks great! LOVE the kitchen/living area, it'll be really nice opening up onto your alfresco there.

Have your titles been released yet?
We've just signed all our final, final house plans and land should be settled properly this week. Fingers crossed. So we're hoping for a slab down in Jan. (Darn bank slowed everything up so I think we've missed the pre-Christmas slab party we were hoping to have... oh well.)

Our titles are expected early next year as far as I know. We are still waiting on a few minor details from the builder before we sign the final papers. Something to do with the supports for the cafe bar not being right, so they are adding cupboards to give more support. Not sure exactly what's going to happen as yet, hopefully very soon (sometime this week?)

Hi Just to let you know that we are also building the Genesis, l have included a bar into my design and l am keeping all the colours that were used in the display home...dont have a great imagination l am afraid....would like to hear what colours that u have gone with, might be intresting!

For the external walls, we went with exactly as Displayed

It's actually had alot of work done over the past few weeks which I haven't taken photos of, but will do soon. So far, everythings gone smoothly. Tomorrow morning, our stonemason is meeting the SS to get the template etc.

im also near harrisdale. im in piara waters in the stocklands new haven estate.
