I've heard that this is bad Feng shui. It supposedly affects your finances. Can anyone clarify if this is correct? We are renovating the house so we may be able to relocate the toilet but it will be expensive so I'd rather not do it if it's not necessary. Does anyone know if there are any Feng Shui cures for this? nothing bad about it. dont worry too much. Re: Kitchen and bathroom share a common wall. Bit hard to have a kitchen not faceing any adjoining room Well, certainly not in open space designs Our kitchen in previous house had a door to hallway and one to laundry and front opened to the dining area - current kitchen opens to dining/family area - this covering the last 24 years of my life; surprisingly I have been in very good health and happiness. It supposedly affects your finances. Can anyone clarify if this is correct? From that basic information, as it has next to zero effect on the flows of Chi around your house, there is no reason for this to have any affect on your finances. This is where Feng Shui gets a bad name, where people know enough to be dangerous but not enough to be useful. Yes the bath room represents removal of waste, and the kitchen represents wealth and prosperity. But that doesn't mean putting the two back to back with a wall between them that you will remove your prosperity. The wall separates the flows of Chi from either room, and unless there is a door between them, will negate any affect of one on the other. I would be more worried about if a toilet is opposite the front door or at the centre of the house. Re: Kitchen and bathroom share a common wall.
