You are right Council can certify but I am wondering if anyone has used a council inspector recently and how was the experience? I am genuinely interested in hearing feedback. I wonder if they are more thorough than private certifiers and what was the timing like? Everyone I know automatically use private certifiers but I genuinely wonder what the council experience is like. We all know that the private system is far from perfect. We are forced to use council engineers for driveway inspections and those guys and girls have always been thorough and professional. Where a builder has gone belly up, the certifier passes the file and any and all certificates and inspection results over to the council. These jobs are normally the jobs council must undertake further inspections. This is due to most insurance policies issued to certifiers excluding them from taking on a job started by a different certifier.
