Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Flood zone block - 1 in 100year 9Dec 03, 2023 7:16 pm As someone else asked, did it have an existing house on it beforehand? We bought a house and in the time we've owned it, the council have had some analysis done and decided its slightly in a 1% flood zone. Next door is fully in it, from memory the letter we got said ours was 0.05% but when I enter our address it comes up as 1%, I think because part of the block is, from what I can tell by the maps (not an expert tho obviously). I'm a bit worried what this might do when we get around to doing a knock down rebuild. It would be wise to get approval for a new house before you knock down. As it has taken another 6 months. But Melbourne water only wanted something the original size of the existing house. We managed to fit a 45sq house on. Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me.
