Wisdom is in hot mess at the moment. Their current average admin period is 10 months and build period is 15 months. Unless this is your expectation. Follow this FB group, you will not see one happy post - https://www.facebook.com/groups/182334015811410 Mate run! Don’t sign with Wisdom. It will be nothing but stress. They do t listen. They don’t care how long they screw you around for. It takes years longer than you think it will. They do t stick to deadlines. We’ve had no I’ve on-site for these past two sunny weeks. Our build started 3 months ago and two months has already been added to the build time. It was supposed to be a 44 week build. Now a 52 week build so far! Trust me. Go with someone else. mark-wisdom quite reasonable, given the massive shortage of building trades at the moment, of all workers actually. Has Wisdom Homes explained this situation to you? Do you have a fair and adequate liquidated damages provision in your contract? An 8 week delay out of 13 weeks is ridiculous to me. The materials are there. We were told we’d have builders on site full time. Just another lie. They’ll owe us if they go over time but we know someone who’s build has been delayed by months and no compensation so far. Wisdom just pretty much laughed at her when she asked about it. Meanwhile we’re all paying rent and a mortgage. You withold the liquidated damages from the final payment. All you do it agree in the start and end date as defined by the contract terms and work out the difference and withold. The builders will try and tell you building time is up when you get there certificate of occupancy, but that's not the case. Its when the house is built and finished as per plans(there aterms in the contract stipulating this) and you have a certificate. It's hard for them to argue that the house is built to plans when there are delays finalising the house, otherwise it would have been handed over. Dark matter scientist, can breathe underwater, mind reader and can freeze matter just by willing it. Trust me, its in my sig. Thank you for this information Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 16517Dec 01, 2022 10:41 am I was told that I have to reduce my double garage to single garage due to overland flowpath etc. the engineer proposed some divertion to make the current plan working but council wants to keep everhthing natural meaning I have to reduce the garage size, this only affect garage, but it will make the house design (frontage) odd, are there any solutions? to build a carport next to the single garge? any ideas are welcomed, I don't want to change design and go through the whole process again, exausted. thanks. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 16519Dec 06, 2022 12:16 pm mark-wisdom SaintSir Bazinga Hello everyone, new to this post. Im very close to signing a contract with Wisdom. Thought id say hello and if any knows the dimensions for the slimmest water tank available at wisdom homes? I would seriously suggest you to re-consider it before signing the contract. Thank you mark-wisdom. There is a 95% chance I wont be building with Wisdom. I'm having trouble getting updates and even trying to talk to someone to sort out my questions/issues. Its taken a fair while to finalise my plans with Wisdom. Ive been talking to other builders and my plans almost finailsed over a few days. If im going to spend between $750-800K good customer service would be greatly appreciated. The Wisdom product is good but the service is the main reason I'm switching. My 1st build was a great experience - but then again times are different. I'm ok with the whatever is happening all i would have loved is transparency and frequent updates. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 16520Jan 31, 2023 7:04 pm Flamingo Did anyone ask Wisdom homes to install an outdoor kitchen? Any photos? I need to extend approx 30cm concrete floor on the side of alfresco and build a 1.2 m brick wall for the outdoor bbq kitchen. Any advice and cost? Hey Flamingo, I am also building with WH, and I am in the process of building a kitchen outdoors in our Alfresco area. My plan is to DIY, build the timber stud (inner) for 1m or 1.2m then lay bricks wall (outer). How did you go with your plan, did you DIY or did you get a contractor to do the brick wall?
