Finally, it is my turn!!! :z:
Our building permit came through last week and they are going to begin building our home next week!! I am so excited!!
First things first
Our Plans:

Elevations:

Site Plan:
[ img ]

Our block is at the end of a court and an odd shape, as you can see. We moved the garage slightly so that we had a proper 'front' to the house. The best bit was gaining a powder room and huge storeroom in the garage. We are also putting in a pool so the powder room is going to be so useful. Will add photos as things progress. :( :( :z:

Love the storage room in the garage, will be really useful in the future.
Starting next week, how exciting. Look forward to more photos. :D

Congratulations :z: :z: :z:

I love how the garage is out to the side. It works well on your block and will give really great street appeal.

Thats a nice big block you have there!!!

Good luck and crossed fingers for a smooth build. Look forward to all the pics!! :D

Street appeal! That's the words I was after. Our block is large 1080sqm, it will seem huge compared to the 600sqm we have now. Can't wait to share pics (just got to have something happen first!)

Yeah that powder room is great !!! Im sure you will make very good use of that :)

Im envious of your big block!! :: :: :: :: ::

I like how its sits on your block because it means you dont have one big large "chunk??" of land at the back. :D You can use different designs in your pool area to other areas.

AHHH it will all start happening soon enough. :D
I cant wait to see the facade on that once they start bricking.
I know its a while away still, very exciting

Wow...next week!!! How awesome!! ::

Love your floorplan...glad to finally see it! LOL!!

Love love the store room and the wc in the garage....very functional floorplan overall...but what's the extra tiling near Bed 4 for? is there something there that l just can't see?

You've sited the house really well on your block too....plenty of space all around your home...lovely.

Good luck with the build. Can't wait to see some pics :D

The big block size was the deciding factor in the purchase. We are putting the pool in the area behind the garage and outside the kitchen/dining area. I am having a window splashback in the kitchen that will look out into this area. Putting the pool in this spot cuts off back yard access but it is the most private spot and means the pool can be seen from the living area.

Hi thorney,
That extra bit of tiling is actually a very skinny walk in linen cupboard. I think it will be more like a slide/shuffle in linen cupboard :lol: got some block pics just getting organised to post.

Thanks erinleigh. Was just reading your blog - isn't this building thing a lot of fun! I'm sure it is worth it or none of us would bother.

The floorplan looks great, I think it's really good that you are thinking "outside the square" and have designed the front of the house to suit the block. I can't wait to see the photos as it progresses :)

Where abouts in Vic are you?

Thanks for the comments Hels. Alot of the end court blocks in the estate are ranch style homes. I didn't want most of my house hidden behind the neighbours, I wanted a front door that faced the court just like all the other houses and this was the best solution, the powder room for the pool and the store room were a great bonus. Almost forgot to add, we are located in Echuca.

Thanks for your comments also PFM. It is so exciting to be starting. They were busy digging today, power and site cut, I think. I have just sent my husband to check it out and take some more pics. May have some to post later on. Should also get organised and post my colours.

We have found them really good. It is such a loooong process that you kinda get to know everyone really well. It is exciting to have things start before you expect. Don't read about that very often here! Was reading from House To Be your GJG thread that a two storey nearby had frame up in 2 days, that's pretty amazing. You will be started before you know it, too. We were checking paper work the other day and realised that it was July last year when we first walked into the office, we have delayed things a bit cos we had to sell our house. It is sooo good to finally be started. :D
