Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 12, 2022 3:28 am Hi, We have just bought a land in Adelaide and are looking for builders. We plan to have a 2 storey custom design. Frontage is 10m. AD Homes is one we came across through this forum. Others we are trying to get inputs from are Rivergum, Sunshine, and Hickinbotham. Am keen to learn if anyone had a recent experience with AD Homes? How do they compare with Hickinbotham or Rivergum? In our case, I am currently working overseas which makes it complex to visit builders and their display homes. We plan to move to Adelaide by early 2023. With the current rate of inflation, we hope we can start while we are away at least get the master plan and council approvals done but frankly not sure if its doable (or is it a crazy idea to do it this way ) Would really appreciate your views. Thanks Re: Adelaide - New build - first time 2Mar 14, 2022 12:51 am Just my view (from a person who has NEVER built a home): I think that you should be on site while the build goes on, so that you can follow the progress and see with your eyes. If it's just paperwork that you want to start while overseas, that's probably ok. But still, you can't visit the display homes... If the eaves are fixed first, the eaves line is about 250 mm below the top plate of wall frame. If the cladding ie hebel stops just under the eave line, then that means… 2 30365 All locked up and cabinets are in! Had a bit of an issue with kitchen tiles no longer available, so I had to re-select. I'm happier with the new selection though, which is… 25 100803 granny can live in the garage. just give her a few extra blankets rofl 8 20362 |
