Yes you can but having a container that can hold 1,000 kg (1 ton) of water sitting in your attic is a different matter, something you should get professional advice about. How do you plan to move the container into the attic in any case? In Australia, you also have to consider the legality of any plumbing and only use a registered plumber licensed to do that class of work. Are you North American?
