Anyone have any pictures of the 600x 300 that are stacked. What did you decide with this? I think it depends on your tile. We are using heartwood tiles so have paid extra to have them 1/3 offset as I think they look better this way but for a plain tile I think it would look good either way. Newb, is your heartwood tiles standard? Are you on the Genesys range? http://buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com Land Deposit - 20.08.2016 Land Registered - 27.09.2016 Land Settlement - 07.11.2016 House Deposit - 27.11.2016 House Contracts - 16.02.2017 House Build Starts - 10.04.2017 Building with Beechwood Homes buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14754Apr 17, 2017 1:54 pm Hi yes they are standard but if you want them in the 1/3 pattern then you have to pay extra so I don't think of them as standard as I personally would not have them stacked as a floor tile. Thanks for the welcome, yes we are almost at the same stage i think you have been just ahead of me so far. I have already put extra power points in each of the bedrooms as we only have one now and its not enough, plus one extra in the kitchen. Its so hard to know what to put in ive got my plan sitting on my coffee table with the extra electrical i am thinking of and just keep checking over it every time i sit down lol. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14755Apr 17, 2017 2:02 pm Tom2016 newb Hi everyone ive been following this thread for quite some time but im starting to feel like a bit of a stalker so finally decided to join lol. We are building a Moscato 5 and have just had our piers done. Im just trying to finalise out electrical plan and I was just wondering what everyone has done with lights in the kitchen. We are having 3 pendants over the island bench but I was wondering about lighting the rest of the kitchen, do most people change from the standard light to a few downlights or can you get some sort of lighting under the upper cupboards? will it look weird with the pendants if we keep the standard light. Also what about lighting for the front of the house. We are having the classic 3 façade so I was thinking of either downlights in the eves or sconce lights on either end and maybe the brick pillar? Im trying to avoid having to go to Sydney for our electrical appointment if I can as we did most of our electrical stuff at contracts and there is only a few extras we want to add. Also NBN, we don't have it here yet so should I get them to set it up ready or just leave it for now? I just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone for sharing all your tips this thread has been a lifesaver so far. We are going to put oyster light in the kitchen as the main light as well as 3 pendants over the 3mt island bench. The oysters we using are LED and has a built in dimmer so no need for anything different in wiring. We found that the downlights through bw and the electrical contractors were a bit over priced. In saying that we added them to the extended roof line and entrance as they will be a bit hard to change over later. Lighting took forever to decide on sooo many choices and effects. Different lights shadow so depending on what you want the light to do narrows down the choice. We ended up putting 3 lights out the front facade all on sensors. Choices are endless just make sure you go over your electrical plan very well before you sign off it's one of those things it's easier and cheaper to get right now even if it cost a bit more now as it will save you in the long run NBN was a tricky one. They will try and upsell you for optic fibre throughout the house. It's pointless depending on the type of NBN connection you will be provided with from the node. Most are copper from the node to the house so the expense of fibre isn't worth it I would love to have a split in my house its something i have always loved. Im not really a huge fan of downlights as i think you need too many to have any decent light and they are so expensive - but the do look pretty . I love the oyster light idea, we have one now in our kitchen and i don't know why i didn't think of it before. I think i will do that and then put a couple of outside lights on the front and i will put some sort of lighting over the vanity mirrors. All the NBN stuff is over my head, i will probably leave it for now. I think I have a little bit of time before i have to finalise my electrical so i usually look over it a couple of times a day. I would much rather do it now as I know i wont do it later lol.
