What model is your house? What's your bricks and do you have a 22° pitch roof? Sorry thing to envision ours...lol

Thanks!! we are building the moscato 5. our roof is 26°, our bricks are Urban one Chiffon. Roof, windows and gutters are monument and fascia is surfmist.

The only thing we're the same is the gutter and fascia lol....it's definitely looking grand Grace33

Frames done. Windows being put in now and roof trusses starting today. Crane coming tomorrow for the metal for the extended roof frame and the back end of the trusses. Next is roof

My frame was delivered today. The race is on Tom. One six pack bet says my little suburban beauty beats your waterfront monstrosity

The Best is on!! I was talking to the framer that's doing your joint today. When he comes back tomorrow will have to give him a carton to sit on it for a bit lol

. In all honesty I think it's going to be a close race. Given the dramas we seem to have you may well just get in front lol. All jokes aside did you get your trusses as well or did they split the load?

Just the frames. Probably would have had the trusses delivered but there was a bit of a hiccup with the truck driver, something about him being stuck up to his axles in the block next door

What was the outcome of the couple of frames you had with the cracks in them?

Broadynest Spoke with Trevor about it as he was here yesterday said they only minor and framer said the same thing they were where the timbers dried out

Ive got pre approval from bank. They now have to do an valuation before my home loan can proceed.
The bank is unhappy with the tender. Tender states "property not yet specified". This is not good enough for the valuer to actually value the property before lending me a home loan. Beechwood want money before any changes are done.

I'm confused as to what to do next. Ha!

No it isn't. It won't be until june/july this year. I still believe this is too early to sign contracts etc. even before i've got the okay from the bank.

Carpenter back again today with the crane putting the steel in the extended roof and trusses into place. If you get the chance it's worth watching. Couple of minor issues with the stepped strip footing not lining up with the support beams for the roof. BW going to have a look on Monday

This is off topic but check with your council if you can get pre approval to build before settlement. Sorry I dont know the correct term. Our council (Gosford) let us submit everything and get approval before settlement. So once we settled we could build the next day. Save so much time if they will let you.

Some bank will only give you approval in principle so pretty much you know what kind of house will get your money but no builder will finalise everything (papers that you're after) without deposit

There is about 6 months of paper pushing to do before you sign the official contracts and construction is underway. If you are certain registration is june/july i'd certainly be getting balls rolling so you are ready to go to council as soon as it registers.

Has anyone chosen a non-standard garage door colour that could give me an indication of price? We like the look of either the classic cedar or caoba and would be interested to see how much extra these would be? We're having one single sectional door rather than the two standard

I know how you feel. The exact same thing happened to us. I took photos of it and emailed the photos to the neighbours builders head office (Macdonald jones). I asked to get the name of their ss and for him to call me back. He rang me back the next day and was so nice about it all. It was cleaned up a few days later. Thanks Grace33. It's not so much about the mess but the fact that they have cut their land further that they have cut on our land already.

Hi Bredani, not sure if you have posted before but if this was your first time, welcome to the group.
I wanted that Coaba colour as well but was informed it's an upgrade and an additional $200+ from memory last year when we were discussing our external colour and since we want to have minimal additional cost due to budget constraint (aka I'm a miser lol) we opted to get one of their standard colour which is monument.
Our externals are as follows: Coal tile roof, Monument gutters and downpipes, Surfmist fascia and window frame, Blackbutt bricks, Monument double sectional garage and my fav part --- Manor Red front door (XN5)

I would be calling the building. BW will tell you it's not their problem as they haven't done the work. If you jump onto your local councils DA tracking and search the address you will be able to see the builders details and with a quick google search hopefully you can get someone to talk to. I wouldn't be happy either as you could bet your bottom dollar they wouldn't fix it unless you spoke to them about it. Hopefully you get it resolved l.

Thanks Sheridan, we are absolutely loving our new home. We have had a few hiccups along the way but we are getting there. We are extremely happy with our colour selections for absolutely everything. The only thing we have both pointed out as something we wish we had done differently (but money was the issue), was put this gorgeous house on a bigger block of land. But to be honest it is comfortable. Our kids are so very happy.

Definitely call and express your concerns. We found contractors of our neighbours builder using our electricity one day. We contacted the builder and their SS was not impressed and spoke to them the very next day.
