Nice Don't even mention our retaining wall as it alone costs us $30k (biggest component) of our Landscape budget.... @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 394Feb 19, 2017 8:28 pm Ouch orph! We are looking at materials and the like for retaining walls at our place. We have about 1.2m high to retain in front our bedroom windows (at the front of the house) and about 1.4m high required along the side boundary (30mtrs long) and across the back of our house. - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 395Feb 19, 2017 8:36 pm Oops. Pressed enter too early. At this stage we are looking at http://www.quickstone.com.au Each block weighs between 500-700kg so once in place it won't be going anywhere. And it also means we wouldn't need a concrete footing as it uses crushed and compacted road base type stuff. We do have close to two pallets of bricks left over so we are considering using them to do the front retaining and then having a go at rendering ourselves - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 396Feb 19, 2017 8:58 pm needsausername Oops. Would like to compare to ours @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 397Feb 19, 2017 9:00 pm We are just going through costs this week. We've finally come up with a landscape design we like. I'll be sure to let you know orph! My thinking is, it's going to be enough to run a small country for a few years - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 398Feb 19, 2017 9:06 pm needsausername Oops. Landscape Design Parramatta We have been doing a large amount of landscape design work in Sydney… 0 3 Need advice on the backyard plan above. Should I excavate and cut all of the dirt to level with the house slab or semi-excavate as per photo above? Both left and right… 0 25568 Thanks very much! And would the landscaper/contractor generally involve the engineer or is that something the client would do? Thanks for your help 2 10551 |
