We got our draft plans very early on so that you can see what your house will look like against your neighbours

Just went to our contact appointment, you're basically signing what they give you and then they make changes and you sign an amendment post contract doc and if they over charged you then the last payment just gets reduced. if the upgrade is from no bench space at all then your paying for installation, basic laminate bench, then the upgrade to a stone. What is the stone for? is it going at the bottom of the window? It is a piece of benchtop that is not standard. so basically we have an openable window from our kitchen so we took it down all the way to the benchtop which creates a wider benchtop because we want it to be seamless. You can see the window we are getting in this image (it's the same house design we are getting so it will look just the same): http://www.porterdavis.com.au/~/media/h ... rop=1&as=1 Re: Porter Davis homes 14112Feb 01, 2017 6:48 am It's Tender day!! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly and we're not there all day. We haven't made any structural changes except for a few windows. The key word here is 'not standard' so they can charge whatever the like no matter how ridiculous it sounds Re: Porter Davis homes 14114Feb 01, 2017 8:12 am nikil It's Tender day!! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly and we're not there all day. We haven't made any structural changes except for a few windows. Good luck!!! U shouldn't be there all day a couple of hours easy. Unless everything is self explanatory and uve been reading up on everything beforehand. Like ur promos etc. Keep us posted Re: Porter Davis homes 14115Feb 01, 2017 8:53 am nikil I've seen so many people complain about the paint jobs. What's wrong with it, is it just poorly finished? Hopefully they can get everything fixed for you in good time. it just looks thin... im already skeptical due to how much i have already read and hearing others experiences. there are so many marks in the wall chips and parts missing. on a better note my husband met with our SS today early to discuss all our concerns before next wed, and now feels a whole lot more positive. the SS was actually very responsive to all areas we pointed out and had already gone and marked a lot of these things up before he even got there.. We were glad to hear everything will be fixed and to standard thats expected. Fingers Crossed! shower screens are in and wardrobes..site clean is also booked in for Friday!! then its bye bye fencing... Re: Porter Davis homes 14116Feb 01, 2017 8:59 am We just got our call from our BC, she sounds like a nice person and told me up-front the building process is not straight forward and pleasant always, there will be dramas and issues on the way but she is there to help and assist to make sure our building experience is good and we get what we need. This is where I need your advice,.. In the introduction letter there is a section to appointment of building surveyors. are the building surveyors same as the inspectors? Any suggestions on the building surveyors? We have our WOS appointment in couple of weeks followed by tender and contract in April. I am excited and nervous as well!!! Hopefully we get there!! Sounds like a great BC, we have been very happy with 2 out of our 3 (just the middle one wasn't good but we where able to swap) Re building surveyors we went with Darbecca after many recommendedations on this forum. Husband has been happy with them so far but they will be doing their first inspection Thursday so I can report back Friday and let you know what we think. Re: Porter Davis homes 14118Feb 01, 2017 10:51 am So far so good, only a few things wrong on the plans, awning windows where they should be fixed and the placement of shower mixers. They are fixing this up now. They had a charge of $1200 for a filter tap that's supposed to be part of our promotion so she is also checking this out. Our site costs so far are less than we had thought (we were thinking worst case scenario) so that's very positive, of course I'm aware that this can change however the lady we are dealing with thinks that's there is a chance they will reduce once we remove all the trees from the block. Our OHS costs are only $2000 which was a very welcome surprise. Re: Porter Davis homes 14119Feb 01, 2017 10:52 am lizbf85 nikil I've seen so many people complain about the paint jobs. Site clean Friday?! When does that mean you can move in? Re: Porter Davis homes 14120Feb 01, 2017 12:07 pm Hi Sunshine83!! that sounds good.. I have been thinking about signing with one of them, but Darbecca is on my mind as well! I will have to work through this in the next few weeks!!! Looking forward to hear more from your first inspection. Is it regular for BC's to change? It would be tiring to repeat the same story to 3 people and start over again sunshine83 Ashik_09 We just got our call from our BC, she sounds like a nice person and told me up-front the building process is not straight forward and pleasant always, there will be dramas and issues on the way but she is there to help and assist to make sure our building experience is good and we get what we need.
