Browse Forums Building A New House Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Bunnies needing homes (p 605Jan 27, 2017 8:24 pm Thanks. I thought I would feel happier, kind of ..'feeling good for doing good', but I really just feel angry. I'm angry that people can get away with treating their animals like that.. I'm angry because I know she'll just keep doing the same thing and hurting more animals.. I'm angry that we couldn't rescue all of them. I'm angry that I had to make a decision on putting one of them down... I'm angry that I had to spend $400+... I'm angry at the lack of help and support offered by shelters, foster groups and such.. I'm angry that I tried to do a good thing and instead I'm now stuck with unwell bunnies that need 2 hourly feeds for 2 weeks or more, because I can't find anyone to take them in... I'm angry that my own bunnies might get sick or ill.. and that I didn't think about them before taking these babies in.. In a way, I guess this is a sort of good experience.. between this and the volunteering I did over Christmas, I've decided that fostering is not for me. I would rather just adopt a bunny and raise it as my own... or any animal for that matter. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Week 17 606Jan 28, 2017 8:45 am Hoping to see the house today or tomorrow No word back from the builder yet. I want to know what their plans are!!! I'm up to 5 weeks in my countdown, but its really just a guess... Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Week 17 607Jan 28, 2017 3:39 pm Saw the house today. No changes I could see since before Xmas ;-;. I think I have to revise my timeline to late March/April, given we've lost two weeks now. Was looking at the fence that has gone up, not really happy with it. Lots of gaps.. doesn't help it was put up before the land was properly leveled on either side *sigh*. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Week 17 608Jan 29, 2017 12:35 pm Costco strikes again XD Bought a weeping maple for $114 (very tall!!) and three Lily Pily plants for about $50 each. I think I have most of my plans now, just need a few magnolia's for the backyard and some border plants Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Week 17 609Jan 29, 2017 6:37 pm Said goodbye to two of the seven bunnies today. Much easier just managing the five little ones, especially as I have them all together (so only one cage to clean instead of two). The other two went to a lovely lady who will look after them for a few months till they are ready to find their forever homes. I named the little ones xD. Dash, Domino, Dove, Star and Penguin. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Week 17 610Jan 30, 2017 10:08 am Do you have photos of the fence? Yay for plants, can't wait to see how your landscaping looks once your in I hope these little bunnies find their forever homes! My neighbor still hasn't done any landscaping or leveling of their block... so hopefully once my concrete is laid and block leveled that will fix a lot of it... I just can't afford gaps with my bunnies or cat. Hehe, me too! I just hope all the plants live long enough. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Week 17 614Jan 31, 2017 6:43 pm I love weeping maples! Was thinking one for my front yard..do you think that counts as a 4m canopy tree? I didn't know Costco had plants either. Glad you found a home for 2 bunnies! My conveyancer told me her contact in electronic settlements said my land isn't far from titling!! Yay for me! Smack bang in the middle of the front yard right in front of my master bedroom window. I want it to be a feature of my very small front yard XD Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Week 17 617Jan 31, 2017 7:11 pm I haven't seen plants at Costcos before, but they do change things quite often. This was just perfect timing for me I would think it counted as a 4m canopy tree. Its one of the trees our estate allows. Ooh, good luck! Hopefully you see titles soon. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Week 17 618Jan 31, 2017 7:16 pm charlibear Do you have a PCI date yet? Surely you're not too far off now GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Nope, no PCI. No mention of one as yet. I haven't heard from my builder since Christmas. ;-; need to chase them up but trying not to be too annoying. After seeing the house on the weekend, the obvious things still needed are: Countertops Flyscreens Tiling and carpets Painting throughout Driveway Tapware Lighting throughout Probably other stuff I don't know about. I'm holding onto most of the lights for the house, and they are going to ask me for them when they are ready.. which they haven't yet ;-; I just hope things get going again soon. Things are getting a bit crazy at mum and dads, NEED ROOM. I think if I don't get handover before the 11th of Feb (highly unlikely) then I loose 50% of my stamp duty Which would have been $1900. And if I don't move in before 4/4 then I have to fork out more money towards my storage unit.. so here's hoping I'm in sometime in March or Feb.. My big bunnies met the little bunnies today and they WERE NOT HAPPY JAN!!! They went crazy trying to get through the cage at the little ones... so I don't think I'll be keeping any baby bunnies long term.. or getting more bunnies in the future like I was planning to. I'm thinking a dog instead XDD I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 16357 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17999 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 12448 |
