Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Mojo Homes 776Jan 17, 2017 3:10 pm ja-mez tuckems Has anyone walked away after already signing contracts? Even if they have, every single circumstance is different. Mojo didn't forget the foundations, IF its on your plans then drafting did the right thing and it was probably their estimating department did not itemise the cost. I would just open a line of communication with someone senior and express the issues and how they have affected your experience to date. These are not issues that Mojo wants to repeat. So they will try to fix them. We all get so antsy pantsy about mistakes, like myself last week. However I know I have fluffed stuff at work all the time, so what makes us so angry that they made a mistake. They never claimed to be perfect or error free...............they have been transparent with me on all my issues to date. Construction is not an easy industry (Ohs, standards, materials, fashion/design) is ever evolving, high turnover of staff never helps (I'm talking industry standard, this is not an issue with mojo) Given what they offer, you are getting much better value. dollar for dollar with any builder if you were pre april/may 2016 price rises you are getting a very good deal. pre november and you are still some 4-6% better off... Try to fix the relationship and steer it in the right direction. Senior management are contactable, I've sat down with him early on to resolve items relating to my project. I work in the industry and no matter where you go you will experience the same issues. Search any of the main builders and the ridiculous names they get. . I also take a lot of these online complaints like a grain of salt, 6.6K is not huge mistake. Oversight yes, frustrating you bet. But ultimately if you want it you must pay for it. Contractually I don't know how it goes with regards to items the builder missed, considering you have signed a "fixed price" for some of those items you may have some recourse (at the least a point to argue) . you mention you have had 6 issues. How many are actual problems/mistakes and not just personal opinions or miscommunications? Anyhow weather the storm because from what I see the end result is worth it Very well put Ja-mez... Building a house is one of the stressful thing in life and probably the biggest investment for most of us... Since we spend a lot of money, the fear factor in us kicks in and wants to make sure everything is "perfect" Spend more time choosing a builder, once you are locked in, work on how you get the best out of the builder... no one is a perfect builder...every builder makes mistake but how they go about fixing it makes the difference.... 2 way communication is very important... Wish everyone good luck...building a house is not an easy journey but we are brave enough to do it, stay strong till you reach the destination Re: Mojo Homes 777Jan 17, 2017 4:23 pm Rhasa Is a digital TV antenna a must? We have a double storey with roof tiles, not colourbond steel... In the electrical guide, the only option is a Digital TV Antenna solution (1x digital TV antenna, 1x TV outlet and 1x standard roof mount tripod), which costs $890 and we're not sure if that's necessary.. What do you guys recommend? Cheers! Hi we have Crest in Kellyville doing our antenna, it was a fair bit cheaper under 500. I cant recall what it will be. remember you get 3 point standard as part of most inclusions pack then for $240 you can get a FTA, CAt6, CAble and power point to the TV areas. these will terminate where needed. Antenna cabling goes into the roof cavity which you antenna guys hooks up to!... For peace of mind you could get Mojo. but if you after trying to save then after handover is a sinch! the guys will be done in 2hrs.. plus you may find that you need a booster and again people like crest have great products at good prices! Re: Mojo Homes 778Jan 19, 2017 5:06 pm FYI Norwest Antennas did my last build for $350 no amp needed. So MyChoice is quite the rip off. Did anyone do flyscreens with Mojo and how did it compare to quotes? With all their good inclusions, the non inclusion of flyscreens was quite lackluster. Re: Mojo Homes 779Jan 20, 2017 2:28 pm Hi Is anyone able to share their Enigma 36 floor plans or another enigma? especially if they have added the grand alfresco option. We are having trouble with Mojo and the plans we have gotten back show an excessive roof pitch for alfresco. making our windows smaller at the rear then they should have to be. People help here would be welcomed. Re: Mojo Homes 780Jan 23, 2017 1:18 pm ja-mez Even if they have, every single circumstance is different.
