In the pic we cleaned half of the stone bench top in the ensuite. We cleaned it with water and a rag and the grout seems to have set into the stone and we now have random light patches in the stone! Yes you're right Spicegirl, they were covered with plastic BUT the tiler took the covers off. If they are damaged then Henley will replace them. Re: New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 274Nov 02, 2016 3:44 pm This is why they shouldn't install the stone until they have finished the tiling!!! This is a bit silly as they are now going to most likely have to replace that bench top Re: New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 275Nov 02, 2016 8:13 pm stayxtrue This is why they shouldn't install the stone until they have finished the tiling!!! Totally agree bench tops should have been one of the last things installed. Re: New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 276Nov 03, 2016 5:01 am How are you able to get access to your home to see the defects? Henley advised me at tender stage, that we weren't allowed to go on site, at least not when they are working otherwise tradies will drop their tools and walk off due to health and safety regulations. I just walk in, but I avoid seeing the tradies and try going after they finish around 6.30pm and on Sundays! Site supervisor is well aware we visit regularly and hasn't said a thing! If anything we've made his life a whole lot easier picking up errors and getting them fixed before it's a bigger problem. For instance a junction box was placed in the wrong spot to our facade ( literally placed almost smack bang on the middle of the facade) so before render started we made sure SS had the electrician move it. It's things like this that pile up and before you know it there's a huge list of things needing to be rectified. But we've only had one meeting onsite with our SS, no point really unless we have major concerns. Re: New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 278Nov 03, 2016 12:53 pm Yea with our first house we were walking on site a lot but always tried to avoid the tradies. It honsestly depends on your SS as well. This time around we will be having Darbeca come through on all stages! So that way all areas should be picked up and resolved. I just struggle to find time these days! We considered Henley early on but there were two factors that… 1 12179 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 19026 |
