It's always good practice to put in safety trays where applicable as its purpose is to catch or slow down the water leak you inevitably going to have when your drain blocks up. I think the installer is thinking of drain traps where on the positive side of the coil it's not required to drain correctly as opposed to the negative side of the coil where the system won't drain without it and potentially suck in air through the drain. hth the service company told me it was hanging from the rafters correctly although looking at the photo it looks like it just has metal straps. His only concern was the lack of the tray and wanted to install one if the original installer wouldn't do it. Based on his response it looks like I will have to pay for it which involves on tiles being moved and the sarking. looks like some installers do it and others don't bother. i am not sure if the unit is installed with the fall to the left or whether its just the way he took the photo. Being a female I am not likely to able to view it myself Anybody know any good and reasonably priced Air conditioning contractors/companies that could install a ducted air conditioning system in the Central Coast NSW for a small… 0 9917 Levelling compound Ardit is the best but buy a bag of sand and make sand dam to protect your wood floor 2 15396 XCEM Alpha flooring seems to relatively new and I could not found any reviews.
