Browse Forums Building A New House Building Metricon Glendale 39 in Melbourne North 63Jul 20, 2016 10:15 pm Sizz_G39 I received a pretty disappointing email from my CSC today , the two changes we had requested - moving the refridgeration out of pantry and window splashback. CSC replied that these 2 would be done post contract so it wouldn't be reflected in the plans and quote at contract signing . I was definitely not happy with this and went back that's this isn't acceptable . Has anyone encountered anything similar regarding variations ??? Glendale 39 build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83907 No they usually have all plans updated before contract. When we moved refrigerator void to kitchen it was in our plans come final. I don't understand why they are being difficult, we did two preliminaries before final due to changes. It's like they're avoiding preliminaries now. It's like they want 5% deposit quicker!!! Things have definitely changed since we started. Glendale 39 build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83907 Yes good idea!!! And good luck!!! I hope things get better for you. My first CSC we couldn't stand absolutely hopeless then she left when M did a huge clean out. Then we were assigned a new one and she's been fantastic from day one. If your unhappy with someone you could always request to be assigned another. But admin is almost over for you so maybe you can hang on that little bit longer Believe it or not they accepted my last 2 changes so I was happy Re: Building Metricon Glendale 39 in Melbourne North 66Jul 20, 2016 10:55 pm That's good to know .. I'm wondering who would I ask if I had to ask for a new CSC, maybe my SC- he has been awsome. Our first encounter with CSC was at color and the first thing we were told was we can't do glass on facade and if we wanted we can put our process on hold... And It's been on the back foot since then .. Glendale 39 build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83907 Building Metricon Glendale 39 in Melbourne North 67Jul 20, 2016 10:58 pm Sizz_G39 That's good to know .. In short, please ensure all the plans amended to what you required before you proceed to final contract. Thanks Vintay, I've decided that I won't do contract appointment if the plans aren't done and correct with final price .. Well push the contract signing later. We did this with the promise they would fix all their mistakes in our contract and it was hell for months! Took them even longer to fix everything! Re: Building Metricon Glendale 39 in Melbourne North 71Jul 22, 2016 8:55 pm After having a few stern email exchanges, I got a call from CSC that they have discussed things with management and I should expect all modifications to be done on the plans and updated quotes with all pricing finalised by end of next week ... Things have started looking positive again. It was very helpful feedback guys not to agree with post contract changes .. We are also building the Glendale 39 in Melbournes north in Mickleham. Our contract though is going to be redone since our land will title late but I havent heard the current base price of the Glendale 39 with peninsula facade. Are you able to tell me what the current base price is? Private message me if you wish. Back in january it was $274,800 so hopefully it hasnt sky rocketed. Good luck with your build, will be following! Re: Building Metricon Glendale 39 in Melbourne North 78Jan 20, 2017 9:26 pm Hey there, how are things going for you? Welcome to our new Metricon Henderson viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81978 https://metriconhenderson.wordpress.com
Did you have to pay Admin fees for each of the variations?
No because the majority of the variations post contract signing were oversights and errors in the contract by Metricon. We did put some new changes in post contract and this was allowed because we had to do variations due to Metricon's errors anyway. Our admin phase was really lengthy and we weren't given the opportunity to view our contract before signing it so there were many many variations post contract. They do honour all those variations however so i wouldn't worry about that. We just recently had an instance where the incorrect laundry door was ordered as per contract but we had a variation to prove otherwise and that was fixed in our favour. If we had waited until Metricon got the actual contract 100 per cent correct we still wouldn't have begun building yet, our admin phase was very slow...lots of back and forth emails between us and the customer service people and the estimator.
