Hi all!! We've finally got to the point of creating our own thread. After much consideration and going back and forth questioning our decision we have settled on the Newport 361 with Fairhaven. It's from their Bridgewater (middle) range! We looked at a lot of other builders and we couldn't get the same inclusions and extras for the same price through anyone else Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We grabbed their option booklet and have started with the following changes - walk in pantry option 1 with a custom kitchen that isn't in the option booklet Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - removal of the centre load bearing wall in the family room - removing the 5th bedroom and giving the back bedrooms WIRs Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - Enclosing the open study to give us back the 5th bedroom Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - adding the additional walk in robe to master Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - side entry stairs rather than straight up Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - under stair storage We have also added refrig aircon, doors to the theatre, widened the alfresco slider, added doors to both WIRs in the master and moved the garage door slightly. We widened both showers and made the vanity in the ensuite into a double! We should have our final plans in the next week to add electrical and have a colour walk through tomorrow then full colour selections on May 31st. We'll more than likely go with a grey and white colour scheme with lots of neutral colours! We signed up when fairhaven was running their colour your world promo so get some great inclusions and $7k to spend in the colour showroom too! Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 2May 19, 2016 4:45 pm Congratulations on your build & blog Kat. You weren't kidding when you said that you were making a few changes to the floor plan! The colour walk through before the colour appointment must be recent as we weren't offered that. Look forward to seeing your selections & photos. They asked us for an electrical plan and I've told them there's absolutely no way to do it before we have an actual plan. The house is almost all different haha. Fairhaven don't offer a colour walk through, we asked for one as we built with Henley last time who do a showroom tour and it really helped us make our colour selections on the day much quicker as we already had a lot pictured in our head and picked out already! At the moment titles are supposed to be done late June with settlement a couple of weeks later! Hoping to get to site by late July Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 4May 19, 2016 7:42 pm With all the changes you've made you'll have to rename the house from Newport 361 to something else. Our build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82369&p=1525857&hilit=fairhaven#p1525857 Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 7May 23, 2016 4:47 pm We went for our colour tour Friday which was basically a waste of time. Just a walk through of the showroom and they had an appt half an hour later so we didn't get to look at much! I have a basic idea of what I want for the internals but externals are killing me. We chose the linea facade which is half brick, half weatherboard and matching all the externals is hard... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm thinking a brown brick, lighter top and dark roof but Windows, door, and garage door I'm a bit lost? Was thinking these Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ With a wood look garage door and stained front door! Any thoughts? Anyone used colorbond "surfmist" and found it to be a bit creamy, or more white? Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 8May 24, 2016 6:54 pm Not sure about your brick colour with the dark grey - are you having tiles or Colourbond roof? Our build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82369&p=1525857&hilit=fairhaven#p1525857 Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 9May 24, 2016 7:47 pm It's a colorbond roof.. We have those bricks and monument roof (which I think I've changed my mind to) on our current house that we built a few years ago but I'm just so unsure on this half half house! All the Bridgewater facades are rubbish I'm now thinking maybe more this.. The Lancaster facade would be my choice in the Bridgewater range. Good luck with colours & electrical tomorrow and await the photos. Emailed my CRO about some problems with the floorplan to no response! Our block titles in 4 weeks and fairhaven definitely won't be ready to go! Our last build (with Henley) was definitely a much smoother and very much faster admin process! Here's hoping when they actually get started they're not those slow Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 20Jun 18, 2016 7:37 pm Gorgeous selections.
