Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Our OB project..progress photos 802Apr 27, 2016 6:42 pm It's the final countdown for you now gandn! Looking forward to seeing your finished royal bathroom! Re: Our OB project..progress photos 803Apr 27, 2016 8:54 pm gandn Loving the progress at my place this week and it's only Wednesday! It's really starting to look finished now. Staircase company have been again! We've had so many issues with the finish quality but I think they are finally as resolved as they are going to be. It's still a beautiful staircase. My mums cousin came down today and finished all the cornice in the wet areas and kitchen plus he has set the the angle on the stairs and the upstairs wet area ceilings. Only the cornice on upstairs bathrooms and fireplace villa board to go for him. Fireplace is all framed up ready. I have managed to acquire one through L0PI Australia. They have been fantastic. Will be even better if my credit card dispute is approved! Still waiting to hear back, apparently can take 45 days to finalise the dispute. With this cold weather starting I'm hoping it will be completed before we move in. Carpenters have also done all the architraves on the wet area Windows. Only 4 doors and jambs to go plus a few handles. Tiling very close to be being complete. Balcony done over the last 2 days, alfresco starting hopefully tomorrow. And finally all my toilets have been installed. Not overly happy with their installation though. I've got scratches on my tiles and one is crooked Tomorrow my motors get put on the garage doors. Ticking those jobs off! Will pop those all important photos on later. Wow gandn! Great progress! You are so so close now!! And i agree with everyone, your bathrooms are fit for a queen, absolutely beautiful! Re: Our OB project..progress photos 812Apr 28, 2016 2:06 pm gandn twin_dad Oh my goodness. So shiney. Using my LG-G4 to bring you this update. Orpheus Wow, are the floor tiles glossy finish? Shiney and glossy. My bling LOL! Love the glossy tiles. We were told by our builder we couldn't install glossy tiles to floors of wet areas. Maybe that's the difference between owner builder vs project builders Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Our OB project..progress photos 813Apr 29, 2016 8:53 pm Love your place! I have a few questions and apologise if I missed it, I read most of your previous pages but not quite all... *What kind of insulation did you choose, and why? *Did you DIY the waterproofing or get an accredited professional to do it? I will have more questions but not too many all at once! Re: Our OB project..progress photos 815Apr 30, 2016 6:05 pm Keffufal Love your place! I will have more questions but not too many all at once! Hi Keffufal. We have Bradford Gold 4.1 in ceilings and 2.0 in the walls plus 2.0 soundscreen in between floors, round pipework and some walls. We also have wall wrap which equates to 0.5 extra. Re waterproofing. I'm not sure what state you are in but in NSW you are not allowed to DIY waterproofing. You must have a qualified waterproofer do it and they need to provide the certificate for the certifier. It also needs inspecting by the certifier. We were more than capable of doing our own but due to this constraint were unable to and had to pay big $$$ to get it done. Re: Our OB project..progress photos 816Apr 30, 2016 6:26 pm Massive week as we get closer and closer! Lots of stuff ups too! I sometimes wonder why we are paying people to do jobs for us when my OH has to fix up their work once they have been. If only he didn't work about a billion hours a week he could have done the whole build himself better than half the people we have paid i'm sure! This week he has been plumber, gas fitter, excavator, garage door installer, plasterer and lets not forget electrician! Motors to the garage doors installed. OH fixed them up today as they not very nicely cut out a piece of the cornice to install the bracket and they weren't running smoothly. He moved the bracket, patched the cornice and made them ran smoother. Upstairs bathroom cabinetry completed bar the stone. Of course the plumbing was in the wrong spot for the basins so OH put on plumbing hat and cut and fixed that too! He also straightened up the crooked toilet with that hat on And lastly our concretors have been and started the formwork for the concrete out the back of the house from the drive through. Driveway getting done next week most likely Will be great to see the end of the dirt but will be interesting if it gets done the same day my stone is delivered That too came with small dramas too when they went through the storm water pipe. Its almost funny. Today the OH is being gas plumber and fitting the flue for the gas heater. Something kind of wrong about cutting out finished gyprock and bricks Re: Our OB project..progress photos 817Apr 30, 2016 6:46 pm gandn Massive week as we get closer and closer! Next week is driveway, stone to kitchen/pantry/laundry and 4 bathrooms, tiling finishing and wardrobes install. Took them 4 trucks to deliver the robes today Add in some painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and fireplace fitting! It's a race I have to win. Handover of my current house is May 30th. Will be great having so many post handover type jobs already done. Re: Our OB project..progress photos 820Apr 30, 2016 7:07 pm Franky40 Wow lots happening! Great having a handy hubby!
